Its a one click install... once you get familiar with it, you can configure a lot of channels, including a bunch from Canada. TVMC One Click video... in 5 minutes.

So uninstall Kodi.... and go over to this page TVADDONS

You want the TVMC Windows Install... follow the set-up of the video above. Its an abbrviated version of Koid. I like this install becaus it has a small footprint, ideal for laptops / notebooks.

"Get More"... you can install other channels of your liking. These TV channels have all th stuff from HBO, AMC, BET, Encore, FOX HBO, ShowTime, Starz original programming and older original programming. You can find some of those show in GENESIS as well. You always access all media via Add-On Tab.

The same goes for Music. "Get More", Add-ons.

Looks like, with Kodi, you need to buy some kind of middle man to watch OTA (see "Intergrating Kodi with Your Over The Air Antenna"):

No you don't, unless you want to, there's several ways to access Kodi and/or TVaddons. As long as you have

Wifi you can use a computer. If you use TVADDONS you should have to setup WiFi.. network / password.

You can't run Kodi on a Chromebook or an Apple iPad, iPod, or Apple TV unless you root or jailbreak those devices.

TVADDONS is a different company from Kodi ,but they offer most of the movie channels I've listed. Since Kodi is open source the TVADDON team forked Kodi's code to build their own stream software. These two streaming services are rivals, they aren't one in the same. On of the new features TVaddons offers (not Kodi) is the one click setup fo rAndroid (tablets), Mac's and PC's. TVAddons created the one click streaming software novices, but after you understand how it works, you can configure it to add more channels or the correct term, repositories.

Will try to experiment with Kodi again, when I have the time. I don't think I'd bother with TVaddons. I just want to be able to watch OTA channels and timer-record them.

Go with TVADDONS is simple and you get the best of what TV streaming has to offer. There's open-sourceDVR called MythTV . I couldn't get it work but I'll check to see if I need to update it or something.
