Still analysing, but says:

Some device drivers on this machine behave bad and will probably cause drop-outs in real-time audio and/or video streams. To isolate the misbehaving driver use Device Manager and disable/re-enable various devices, one at a time. Try network and W-LAN adapters, modems, internal sound devices, USB host controllers, etc.

company "dropped-in'. smile I'll be back.

You can turn it off for now.

We may have some inkling of what may be the issue....

Checkout the video - with the guy talking- because when you run DPC again, we will be going through the same steps as he. You'll have to have DPC running as you trouble shot / pinpoint you rpossible issue... -disabling and reabling drivers in Device Manager. We'll try the things the software listed above when I have the time... Monday evening, 6-ish? There are somethings I don't want you to touch in Device Manager... i won't to make certain I / we have the time to see what DPC tells us.

what the the brand and model of your notebook Ace?

  • chrome:plugins" into Chrome's address bar and press "Enter."
  • Locate the Adobe Flash Player section and look at the Location field, which lists a drive path on your computer.
  • Find the entry with "PepperFlash" in the location and click "Disable."
  • Restart Chrome and see if video playback is any smoother. If not, a clean reinstallation of Adobe Shockwave may solve the problem.

Still, we need to see CPU usage, so install free version of Speccy please. link in second post.

O.K.! My computer is FAST again!!!!!!! woot! whew Only apparent remaining issues:

1. Occasionally, this error message pops up:

"The ordinal 797 could not be located in the dynamic link library iertutil.dll."

2. When searching from the Start menu's "Search programs and files" box, clicking on "See more results" brings up this error message:

"Windows cannot find 'search:query=(search term here)'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again."

3. Flash video still choppy in Chrome if PepperFlash not disabled.

I'm going to assume you've uninstall Chrome and Flash, and reinstalled? If that's the case the piece of software you've upload could pinpoint the issue(s) . As I mention the 1st YouTube video gives instructons on how to use the software in real time while disable and enabling devices in the Device Manager. When you have the time let me know.

If you have everything backed up, I'd advised a clean install..

You can call your Computer maker and ask for recovery disk. I've never been impressed with system restore on the HDD. Adobe is a pain in the ass, Windows is a pain in the ass. lol I'm attempting to see what open source software allows you to record TV show via the computer.. DVR option.

I probably have the original disk, but I 've been hesitating doing this (again, probably-unfounded fears about losing stuff).

Thank you for looking into the DVR! I downloaded Kodi, but that doesn't seem to work in canada. sigh

Unistall Google Chrome...

Read the notice in yellow... even so there should be a box asking if you wish to yada, yada, yada... don't click that box, leave as is and you bookmarks should be there when you reinstall. Thoug I'd suggest saving you bookmarks the old fashion (back-up plan) way to the instructions in link 1. I don't think you can save history with that option, only bookmarks.

You are welcome Ace... so everythings working? Cuz, I don't want you to touch Ccleaner until everything on your notebook is working, fine.

Ace, if you're a heavy computer user get these two programs here.

  • Ccleaner the setting should be changed, will do the job nicely.
  • Defraggler

The former will clean the crap from your computer and the latter will defrad your HDD. In your case I'd defragg every 5 months. At some point your are going to have to reinstall Windows 7... nature of the beast. Please either make a recovery disc, purchase recovery disk, or copy that hard drive to a new hard drive for safe keeping.

You can uninstall the hardware I had you download, too.

I used CCleaner, but I think I forgot to change the default settings and it may have caused problems like the search issue.

Windows 7 is supposed to defrag on its own. Do you recommend defragging beyond that?

In Win XP the defrag had an interface.... Vista, 7, and 10 defragging is a mystery, hidden. confused

What I like about Defraggler, you get to see you HDD, have an accurate look. You'll how much of your HDD is defragmented and you can defrag individual files. It will tell you the health of your HDD and get an accurate % of how much disk space you've used and how much you have left. Its been my experience that Defrag helps maintain your HDD speed if you started out using is when you purchase a computer. Still, it will keep you HDD running smoothly if the files are in order and not all over the HDD. I would use too often cuz defragging often (overtime) can damage the HDD; that's true of Windows defrag software too.

Ccleaner works as long as you keep the default settings. Some folks just start checking things, when in fact those other tools are for advance users who know Win OS end side and out. lol
