Reverse Bullying? I know the subject of bullying has been, in some cases, run into the ground, by that I mean, some things that are not bullying are called bullying etc., but I would like to address something that is some bullshit. Ok, my mother is on FB and she is a Christian, recently she posted a painting that she liked, on her page by an artist of a man and a woman in an embrace and it was titled, "Man and Woman" --- Nothing more. No hate speach, no anti gay anything, just the title "Man and Woman" --- and she was NOT being passive aggressive, she just liked the painting! Well, some guy who was gay (not one of her friends but a friend of a friend) somehow saw it and began bullying the shit out of her- posting nasty things on her wall, going through her pics and making fun of them, etc. and my mother, who is very sensitive, took it all very personally and was very shaken up by it. So, what I"m saying is, So fucking what if she DID think marriage was between a man and a woman? Which, honestly, she doesn't even have an opinion either way on the subject but she's fine with gay marriage. But if she WAS opposed, isn't she allowed her opinion on her own GD facebook? What makes someone think they can bash someone until they agree with them? | |

Of course she isn't allowed her own opinion! She is an oppressor and must fall in line with the new "gay marriage is swell and people who don't enthusiastically applaud it are awful and hateful" orthodoxy. She should be fired from her job and sued for not baking a cake and have blows rain down upon her at every turn for her bigotry. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. Right? this is ridiculous. My poor mother has slight dementia and her thinking gets jumbled and she never even thought that anyone would take that in any offensive way and then this asshole goes off on her and personally attacking her and bashing the fuck out of her. WTF? My mother uses FB to connnect with old friends and post pics of missing animals and stuff, she never gets involved in any religious or political stuff and now her feelings are hurt and she's going to leave FB, the one outlet she has to talk to old friends as she mostly stays home. This is some bullshit. And I know someone is goign to tell me her page should be private, which I called and told her but she doesn't know how to do that - or even how to take off the comments this asshole left on all of her photos, so I'm on my way over there now to show her how to do that.... | |

That was going to be my next post. You need to make her page more secure. But even so - if someone she's connected to shares what she posted, she'll still see comments from other people. You need to lock it all down pretty tight - and make sure you block the asshole who's pestering her. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them.
