Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ Reboot Coming & Yes, MEGA Star Will Smith Is Involved ‘Image Courtesy of NBC
Smell ya later! The ’90s hit classic comedy, ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ has officially joined the reboot train, and the original star, Will Smith, will be involved.The Fresh Prince is back, our sister publication TVLine is reporting! Overbrook Entertainment,Will Smith‘s production company will head up a Fresh Prince reboot, putting a new spin on the incredibly popular, hilarious sitcom that became a hit in the ’90s when it ran for six seasons on NBC.
Will Smith, the Fresh Prince himself, will serve as the EP along with James Lassiter, Caleeb Pinkett and wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith. We’re not sure as of now how the plot will play out, and if other stars could be involved. However, we do have hopes/dreams on how the cast could show up in the series: Alfonso Ribeiro played Carlton in the original series, and after seeing how amazing he is on Dancing with the Stars, we have a good feeling he could totally return as the crazy uncle or neighbor of some sort… who obviously does the carlton.
Karyn Parsons, could return as Hilary Banks, who, let’s be honest, is probably married to a really successful man. So maybe the new family could run into her at an attorney’s office — when the new Uncle Phil (RIP James Avery) has a business meeting. Tatyana Ali, AKA Ashley Banks, I like to think moved out of Bel-Air and into the suburbs, taking on a really normal life. So maybe she’ll appear in a grocery story somewhere. And in my dreams, Geoffrey Butler (Joseph Marcell) will still be the new butler in the mansion. What do you think,
Great idea that Will is bringing this back! Along with Jada involved. Proves their marriage is still "INTACT"..

I actually see both sides. The show did suffer after she was let go. It lost it's depth. Me being in the entertainment industry. I know that castmates don't always get along. But make it work for the audience. It was a BAD decision to let her go. Just like it was letting Suzanne Summers go from "Three's Company".
Btw I'm not "a fan boy". Will has millions of admirers. Even celebrities are in awe of him....But just haven't been lucky enough to work with him & see him in "action". will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! When I saw "Pursuit of Happyness" I was shocked that THAT was the same person I saw on Fresh Prince of Bel Air - He's all grown up now! is all I could think.
I dont think after seeing that movie, that I could ever see Fresh Prince again, without, um... Not Believing In The Show.
And... the movie is now almost a DECADE old!! SHIT! | |
