I was 18. I'd been seing this girl for a while & she was a bit twisted. She had a plan and it was going to be her way or no way! It was just very mechanical. Romance was not an option; it was hard enough just making all of the parts fit together in a moderately pleasant way. I do remember that I had Prince playing at the time. And, for the record, I loved the guy (and still do), so it couldn't be tooo awful.

And hey, it got way better with time.
