I had expected a lot to be honest of this series after loving Breaking Bad and the Saul Goodman character. But after having seen 6 episodes both me and my girlfriend think that Better Call Saul is kinda slow, dare I even say a bit boring and just not as captivating as we would have expected it to be.

The second episode is the only one that I truly rate, it had freaky hardcore criminals and a lot of humour, with Saul negotioting his two comrades from of a certain death to "just one leg" missing each. This is how I expected the series to be: violent, funny and over the top with Saul having to use all his skills to stay on top of the situation.

In my opinion it should be quite easy to come up with more exciting scripts for this series. It is just me or are others also not as impressed with this series?

Brilliant acting but sometimes mediocre stories. I'm not sure why they thought they needed an entire season to play out Silppin' Jimmy's backstory. Still gonna watch Season Two, though.

People said the same thing about Breaking Bad series 1. It's really only been in retrospective that peope have acknowledged it's genius.

It put me 2 sleep. I'm hoping that it improves.

It's a little asinine to compare to a completed series, but I think I like BCS better than Breaking Bad.

Gilligan and crew are one of those groups where I can enjoy their work even when its not the best thing they ever did.

You need to rewatch the first season of Breaking Bad, it was a lot slower than Better Call Saul is. The thing is Better Call Saul is a different show, the story is about a lawyer, not a drug dealer. The type of action you see will probably be different; though it may become more like Breaking Bad as Saul becomes more of a criminal.
