But it's a horrible film. I'd slit my wrists if I had to sit through it.

Most interesting Oscar night in some time. I loved Steve Martin's hosting because it was truly irreverent for once... equal opportunity insulting. And of course, the possibility of protest speeches was fun to anticipate -- some were direct, others were veiled (god I thought Susan Sarandon's eyes were going to pop when she was hinting with them.) Seeing both The Pianist and Chicago get their dues was just plain perfect.

BTW, nice job, RD. You should host this thread every year.

Just got home from my friend's Oscar gathering.
Latifah, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Julianne Moore and Hilary Swank looked fab!
I'm sooo happy Adrien Brody won for the Pianist. I just saw it yesterday. Crazy, crazy movie. It was really, really hard to watch. He was amazing. And so damn cute!!! I loved his speech.
The rest was alright. I'm disapointed Gangs of New York didn't pick up anything, but I'm happy Rene Zelwiger didn't get best actress, though I loved Chicago.
