Age of Ulton....your verdict? Managed to nab a ticket for the five minutes past midnight showing last night here in the UK (boy am I feeling that now!). I loved it! Easily as good as the first one. - - - Despite the trailer being dark it had more funny moments than the first one. - Mark Rufallo's "Now Hulk is in space..." slip up from last week; didn't happen so why did he let that "slip"? I'm most curious about The Vision and the Maximoffs. Were they put to good use in the film? Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

Waiting for May 1st. I want to experience it with a large group of people in a movie theatre. I get a kick out of that.

After previewing the first 10 minutes of a shoddy cam copy over the weekend, I decided to buy tickets for the whole family. Can't wait to see it!

Exactly! I thought that's what they were setting up after Winter Soldier to. At least Steve acknowledges it in Ultron..."I've seen Nat flirting up close"... www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!

I saw it in 3D iMax and I liked it! 7/10 It's too long and some parts drag, even though it was nice to have some downtime with some of the characters during the dragging parts

nope. Most scenes could not establish tone--random jokes where thrown in at the strangest, most inappropriate times, and awkward dialogue was thrown in throughout the film between characters to clue the audience in or to further the plot. Normally, you would use a fish-out-of-water character who gets the plot given to him/her (and thus, to the audience), but here they just did that through character dialogue--it continuously brought me out of the movie when that happened. Also, the sound design was awful. Explosions were happening all over the place, and the characters managed to speak to each other at regular conversation level at ease--again, taking me out of the film. I mean, realism isn't exactly the point of these movies--but, at least keep my in the movie when I'm watching it. I would rank this movie about the same as a Transformers movie. มีเพียงความว่างเปล่า 只有空虚 Dim ond gwacter 만 공허함이있다 唯一の虚しさがあります There is only the void.

I thought it was a bad sign with the first one when the most memorable exciting scene (for me) was the joke after the credits. The plot of the first one just didn't work for me. Seemed really forced. I'll still watch this sequel though... I'm craving a new well plotted original action movie. I'm trying to think of the last action movie I saw that fulfilled... maybe "Gravity"?
I saw "Ex Machina" which was very entertaining. My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

I loved it! Much better than most #2 movies. A perfect storyline. Tidbit for those that watched 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' but nothing so big that'll leave those who didn't scratching their head. Agree with the opening special effects looked like rag dolls and puppets. Speaking of puppets I personally thought the tiny bit of "Disney's, 'Pinocchio' was used creatively. The rest of the special effects were awesome. Even the 3D was used well, I noticed when it was meant to be noticed and I enjoyed it. The slow parts seem to be made for people like me, they drew me into the story. For me, worth a second view. Don't worry about missing something after the credits, unless they tricked us in our showing, nothing's there beyond credits. The Terminator and Superman vs Batman look interesting.

This mini review, relatively free of spoilers, is for those who haven't seen it yet:
It helps a bit with the setup if you watch Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. show (I don’t, at least not religiously), because the film begins with an action sequence – Loki’s scepter from the last movie is in the hands of Baron Strucker, who is also playing host to “The Wonder Twins,” who hold a long term grudge against Tony Stark, for reasons that are explained later in the film. The Avengers are clearly a team at this point – they’ve been on several missions together, cleaning up after the aliens from the first film & Hydra, & are after this scepter. Things look like they’re going their way, until Foxy Twin unleashes her mindgames on Tony Stark & he sees a particularly scary vision of his future, while Speedy Twin causes a bit of havoc on the battlefield for Hawkeye & the others. The Avengers retrieve the stick of power & take it back to super hero central to give it a once over, but Stark & Bruce Banner secretly continue work on developing a side project named Ultron, using some new technology they’ve just commandeered. Ultron rebels against his maker, flees & hooks up with the Wonder Twins, who he uses to further his own goals. They eventually realize he’s got some pretty destructive aims, & they switch sides to join with the Avengers.
This isn’t really a sequel to The Avengers. Yeah, they’re cleaning up after the events of the first film, but like Captain America 2, you get the idea there is a danger from within as well as without & someone has assigned themselves as the protector, whether asked to do so or not. In this case, it’s Tony Stark. And then you have Vision, created by Stark & Banner, largely with Thor’s blessing (against the will of Cap) & he isn’t really good or bad, but in possession of a philosophical code that’s pure & protective. While they both share elements of his wit, Ultron’s personality is born from Stark’s paranoia & fear, while Vision takes his best aspects & makes them better.
More than the first, this film feels like it is a setup for others. You have a side trip to Wakanda. You have Stark, who wants to stop a fight before it begins, & Captain America, who is most at home on the battlefront. They will clash in the films to come. You have Captain America with the new recruits at the film’s end & Black Widow at his side, & Thor hammering his way home. The Hulk? Who knows…
The only thing that annoyed me was that they introduced a number of new characters & the resolution of one was arguably for a punchline. The film is loaded with fun moments, though – Thor & Stark comparing girlfriends, the joke codename for the Hulk Buster, every time Cap slings his shield, Thor's great line that unintentionally irks Banner.
There’s only one post-credits sequence.

My only real complaint was the CGI in the opening action sequence was poorly done, hitches and all....looked like a bad video game cut scene.

Pretty bad. Ultron himself and The Vision were the weakest links. It's not so much a movie, but a cgi animated cartoon and toy commercial. This stategy may be short sighted. They need to go back and see what made Gardians of The Galaxy so much fun, because I was bored.

I liked it, but not as much as the first film which may be due to the fact that the novelty of seeing all these characters on screen together for the first time is gone. It was better than Guardians of the Galaxy which I felt was too goofy. The Vision looked great--one of my favorite things about the movie. [Edited 5/4/15 11:59am]

Questions...
There wasn't that fall over and laugh until your sides hurt moment that the first one had, but it had plenty of funny so I still loved it. Even was sitting by the ginormous speakers and I'm not deaf.
