Buy art E bay or Catawiki? If you would buy art, would you go to E-bay or Catawiki?
Or somewhere else?

if a piece appeals to me, i buy art wherever i find it, thrift stores, online auction houses, ebay included. . i've puchased jade dragons from chinese auction houses, and found (what i believe to be) a first edition copy of a book published in 1874 by Elizabeth Anna Hart at a thirft store called arc's value village. . it all depends. imo, as long as the piece wasn't stolen from someone else, buy from any source as long as the art pleases you. good luck and have fun!

Quality and price factors in so it's OK to shop around.

In the early days of Ebay I bought a lot of art there. I got a Kees van Dongen etching for $ 49 once (now insured for $ 1.250) and a screenprint of Brigitte Bardot, also by van Dongen for $ 1.500 (now insured for $ 10.000).
These days I buy a lot at aftersales of regular auctions. I look up what I like online, write down the lotnumbers and the low estimate. After the auction I go through the results to see if any of "my" lots have failed to sell. If so I give the auctionhouse a call and ask if the piece is available for an aftersale deal. If it is I bid a little under the low estimate. I usually get it this way.
I have also signed up with Invaluable, a free service that emails you when certain keywords you have given them show up in an auctionlot. That works very well and makes finding interesting lots a bit easier.
