3/8 = 6/16 1/4 = 2/8 = 3/12 = 4/16 just multiiply whatever number needed to make the bottom number (the denominator) the same.
percentages are decimals. you multiply by 0.06 to find 6 percent of a number. if it was 25 percent you would multiply by 0.25. The number 1 is equal to 100%. If you needed to find 150% of a number you would multiply by 1.5.
He increased the prices by 100% (doubling it) instead of 10%. 2.5 times 2 equals 5. 10% of 2.5 (2.5 x 0.1) is 0.25. The price would be 2.75 when you add the percentage to the current amount.

Just multiply 40 by 18 and add it to the 500 down. That's the cost.

3 is 25% (one-fourth) of 12. 10 is 3rd from the bottom.
