Who Turned Out The Lights?

A dragon ate the Sun today, almost all (98% from here) of it. Fortunately, it very quickly spat it back out.

It was too cloudy by far to have seen any of it, but it did become considerably darker than usual. There isn't a total eclipse here until 2090, which I am unlikely to see, but there are numerous partial ones before then (including an annular in 2048 that I may stick around for).

Of course, it's also the spring equinox and we have a combination of the Moon being both new and at it's closest to Earth.

Oh in 2 weeks we will get a near total lunar eclipse! But I am not sure i will wake up to see it. Oh and the moon is not full today it is new. It will be full in 2 weeks

Worth getting up to see I reckon. Cheers, I meant new, no idea why I typed full. Will correct it.
