Dr. Maya Angelou Is NEXT To Be Honored With Her Very Own 'Forever Stamp'

Of course this means that I'll have to start writing letters on actual paper and sending physical greeting cards again but this does make me very happy! biggrin

Renowned poet Maya Angelou is next to be honored by the U.S. Postal Service: She will be featured on her own Forever Stamp, according to a press release.

Details about the stamp—including a preview, as well as the date and location of the first-day-of-issuance ceremony—will be announced at a later date.

“Maya Angelou inspired our nation through a life of advocacy and through her many contributions to the written and spoken word,” Postmaster Gen. Megan J. Brennan said in the press release. “Her wide-ranging achievements as a playwright, poet, memoirist, educator, and advocate for justice and equality enhanced our culture.”

The beautiful,billionaire, tycoon Oprah, read a very touching letter, Maya Angelou wrote to her years ago, for her 50th birthday, at the 2015 ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Awards. It was hosted by Tracy Edmonds & Shemar Moore.

Oprah I'm sure is thrilled about the new stamp.

eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince
