Horribly innacurate, but it was a good film, nontheless. Accuracy and art are not the same thing (and the point of the film wasn't to tell an accurate tale. It was a fictionalised account).

FUCK A FICTIONALIZED ACCOUNT!!!

The Marquis De Sade was a historical figure! You don't go out and make a movie about a historical figure and then change the facts. It is just not cool.

Uh? Since when the fuck did any movie about a historical figure ever stick to the facts? Movies are about entertainment and art - not a history lesson! I don't give a monkeys that David Lean's 'Lawrence Of Arabia' has very little to do with T.E.Lawrence's own account, it's a great movie.

How good would an accurate movie of De Sade be? I don't want to watch a fat little man rot away in prison - give me Kate Winslet tarting it up anyday.

Only a proper dingbat would believe what they saw in a movie anyway. Look at Shakespeare, his 'Richard III' is balls when it comes to historical accuracy, but who gives a shit? It rocks (in the right hands).

In heavenly BLISS what have I pulled or PUSHED on my spirit to bring the "quills" of my feathers off from FLIGHT or am I still flying never needing FEATHERS of QUILLS AT ALL...

I AM perhaps a MARK of something that has a scent of MARQUIS DE SADE 2...no matter the conjecture...there is the moments of those who have the betterment to FACE FEAR then to RUN from it...

LOVE is defined in unxplainable words...and QUILSS is a profit at a BOX...step outside the BOX...

FIND your MARQUIS DE SADE and be at peace with yourself...WHEN U OVERCOME YOUR FEARS.

You don't cut the tongue out of De Sade's mouth and leave him dying in shit... it is just not right.

I would like to see a movie about George Washington, in which he was a short, African man who owned a small ranch in Norway and sold sheep to Brazillian explorers who were building sailing ships to reach the moon.

Sounds good! I'd like to see a film called 'Lord Of The Pies' in which a really tubby George Dubyah Bush starts crying because he dropped his chocalate ice cream on the pavement. He then gets really upset when a mongrel runs off with the cone and he's too fat to chase it. It ends with him sitting down on the sidewalk, scooping the remaining ice cream up with his hands and eating it, getting it all round the sides of his mouth.

I think I'd better get on the phone to Harvey Winestain at McMiramax. I think he'd make a brilliant lead - in khaki shorts and a disney world t-shirt.

I see your point completely, but you really can't judge a film by its accuracy. Look at Amadeus, which is a great film, but total bollocks historically. It bugs me too, but I do have to look at a film's accuracy and artistic merit as two seperate things

I, too, enjoyed Quills despite it's inaccuracy. Ah well.

Which reminds me... I picked up Juliette a while ago and haven't even started it yet. Yay, new reading! Thanks for the reminder.

I read "Juliette" back when I was 19 and I read it for
our English class.

The teacher went completely pale when I stood in front
of our class and told them what I'd read.

So he immediately screamed "No you're not going to talk
about that. You failed the class, sit down".

So I said "ok, just a joke, I read "The Story Of O" smile

But hey, the dull git knew that one too and said I could
not talk about books "like those".

Thank god I had read Wilkie Collin's "The Moonstone" a
few weeks before so I just did my report on that.

Fucking conventional teachers.
