OK Techies What Are You Doing, Tech Wise. OK. What's up.
Need a new computer. is it time to upgrade, is there a gadget you want or maybe need? Is it time to dump your I.P.? Working on creating a webpage, waiting for Windows 10? Give up the info... Last time I did this, Tony suggested Linux Mint and I've been smitten... with Linux ever since.
I'm attempting to 'root' a Android (Proscane) tablet and install Bohdi Linux, so far no luck. I clean installed Yosemite and think its ugly.
When I'm able reclaim my basement, I'll set up my computers and create a home network... with Raspberry Pi being my media server.

I'm using Fedora 20, and revelling in it's general awesomeness!! Specifically all the desktops like Cinnamon (I'm using it right now), and Enlightenment (you HAVE to try it!).
21 came out couple weeks ago, but I have no intentions of upgrading, as I'm nowhere close to finishing with 20. |

Bodhi Linux uses Enlightenment; there's a learning curve but I've been able to get my head around it so far. I love it... I'm running Enlightenment on a 32bit, 4gb max HP notebook and it flies! I like the idea that's there's no update manager, you decide if you need an update.
Still using Linux Mint 17.1 (Mate') on the self built desktop; I'm intrigued by the new Linux Mint Minibox / Blog. I like the price, the other Mint boxes cost way too much for the meager specs. But before I do anything I got get my stuff up, running, and organized.
Get about the job of Ubuntu Studios... i have not forgotten. |

Yes yes, I've downloaded Bodhi myself couple of times, I have TWO CDs of it - eagerly awaiting the FINAL of 3.0.0, it's taking them LONG! (somebody apparently left the team and somebody joined to take over). I'd send them a coupla bucks if I could - why don't YOU? Do you have any idea what'll be new in Enlightenment 19? It's pretty awesome right now!
I've forgotten what I was supposed to do with Ubuntu Studio, sorry, you took too long - excepting maybe getting ZombieKitten to use it - could you get on her ass about that? (just wrote her a note - I mean, not about US). |

I got me one of those Roku sticks....no more cable bills,
I wasn't about to bother rooting my Nook by hand so I just paid for the SD card.

I'm still using Bohdi 2.4. I cut them a check for each distro release. I'll cut them another when 3.0.0 finally comes out. I regret there wasn't much support for Bodhi's ARMHF for tablets. I'm using their old ARMHF... hoping to install it on a cheap Proscan tablet. I'll org Z.K .a note.
Enlightment .19 / Offical Annoucements----> From what I know and from what I've read it seem like its basic twicked, bug fixes and such as.
I'm awaiting the Wed. press conference of Mircrosoft's debut of Windows 10's. I hope the rumors are true, Intenet Explorer will be replaced with a light weight browser that's not not intergrated into Microsoft's OS. |

How does that work? Is Roku like Netflicks? I"m so glad we pulled the plug I don't know what to do... 5000 channels and couldn't find anything to watch. We have one TV still with basic because my husband was nervous about streaming; now that he sees he can still get news or watch sports, final cut. Comcast will get their box Monday.

Woohoo! I was wondering how well the streaming would work too, but it's great so far.
Basic is free in our development but I was paying for ONdemand programming...needless to say, every time I wanted to see a movie it was five extra bucks and it would frequently go out.
I'm saving on monthly fees....in a couple of months this thing will have paid for itself.

See that's whay I'm talking about...
We are streaming via XBMC. I'm in the process of building a streaming media server via XBMC so we can stream some of our music and moive collection across all our devices. We threw up a digital antenna and I was shocked how many channels on free TV. Now all of our shit shit is free... |

If Linux computers were on 98% of the world computers and being sold beside Apple, Chrome, and Microsoft computers at Amazon and at brick and mortor stores... I'd say the same. Its 2015 and Linux is still waiting for its year on the desktop. Linux community is going to have to do a better job of marketing and getting our "OS" out there. I eagerly await Ubuntu phone & tablet debut, maybe this will be the jump start we need.
Since Microsoft 10 is being offered for free, I'll check it out. if I had to buy it, Win 7 would be my last OS from Microsoft.
