Netflix Marco Polo. Will it dominate Games of Thrones? The TV game has changed considerably. The dream of 500+ channels seems to be going down the tubes. People are cutting the cable and opting for the internet. And Netflix is leading the pack. This time its going up against HBO and challenging the success of GoT with its own big budget series at a cost of $90 million. Premiered December 12th, with 10 episodes ready to binge on. No waiting week to week. I'm late but I'm doing it since I like this kind of stuff. Have you?

The dream of TV ala farte will never replace cable subscriptions. You won't get what the cable companies charge you for one network, more like 6 dollars a piece (and definitely not the premiums, those will be a lot more than you pay for them with cable).

I haven't seen it yet, so I can't say. And I only did a quick glance at ratings, even though IMDb isn't a good measure I guess, I don't know who is these days anymore but it's giving it 8.4 which is pretty good by their standards, making it alongside GoT, others are saying 3.9 out of 4 stars. I didn't look at Rotten Tomato though, which would make the ratings swinging wildly if they as well as others are marking it low.For me, a lot of Netflix originals, most really, don't click with me, but then again that's the same with TV, most shows really don't click with me. I usually have to be convinced by people I know.As far as the cable thing, I heard on the news HBO is making some kind of move to make shows available with out cable subscription. I don't know the details, it's just one of those things I heard on a morning show. YouTube seems to be getting in on the action, as well as others. Cable subscription seems to be down. Okay, I've seen a couple of episodes. I like it. No, it's not GoT, and I keep reading that reviewers keep comparing it to GoT. It's much slower, zero magic or mythical creatures and not a British accent or Euro face to be seen, okay maybe the guy playing Marco is British but he isn't doing much so far, basically standing around, accidently tattling on folks getting them killed. Personally, I love this kind of set design and costuming, and I have always enjoyed big budget Chinese period pieces as long as I can understand what's going on and I do, so I'll be finishing the season.
