If all you did was look at this piece of fan art by redditor dvsdesigner as concept art featuring a desperate Empire once again bargaining with bounty hunters, it would already be a killer piece of work. But, this is fan art on more than one level. The artist based the image on a scene from Once Upon A Time in the West because “Lucas was inspired by Leone’s work for the original films, and I wanted to recapture that.”

Thanks for the Stormtroopers with lightsabers info and explanation. Any idea why Lucas didn´t use these outtakes ? I saw these scenes on Youtube...pretty good, but I guess leaving them out and starting the movie with Vader and the Stormtroopers probably made for a better,more dramatic intro, right?

By the way, years ago, when I was a little kid, I was in a Turkish movie theater and I am 100% certain that I saw an Empire Strikes Back trailer that contained some footage that I´ve never seen again. I think it was some Stormtroopers coming through a wall in Hoth, and some Chewbacca scenes that were not in the released movie.

I don't know why, I thought these scenes were later in the novel.

I thought a few of them could have been used, especially since Biggs is introduced to us later in the movie and he is killed.

Yes there are some scenes with Snowtroopers on Hoth, it is a scene were C-3PO sets them up to go into a cell with a Wompa creature.
I'll check on the Chewbacca scenes

His artwork always added a depth of mystery to the Star Wars Universe
