Interesting clip from a 2009 scene of 30 Rock:

http://classicajays.tumblr.com/post/103409794462/with-bill-cosby-in-the-news-for-sexual-assault-i

Maier transcribed the dialogue between "Rick," the Cosby impersonator, and Jordan in the scene:

Jack Donaghy: I’ve arranged for one of Tracy’s childhood idols to reach out to him.

Tracy Jordan: Hello?

Jack Donaghy: Tracy, this is Jack, I have someone here who wants to speak with you.

Rick: Tracy, this is Bill Cosby.

Liz Lemon: [whispering] Really? This is your strategy?

Jack Donaghy: [whispering and smiling] I heard him do this at a party!

Rick: I want you to come back to the TGS for the people who like the jokes and the things.

Tracy Jordan: Bill Cosby, you got a lotta nerve gettin’ on the phone wit’ me after what you did to my Aunt Paulette!

Rick: I think you’re confusing me with someone else.

Tracy Jordan: 1971. Cincinnati. She was a cocktail waitress with the droopy eye!

Rick: I’m the guy with the pudding.

Tracy Jordan: Don’t try to tell me what to do! Dr. Heathcliff Huxtable, wit’ yo’ light-ass kids! Jack! Why would you make me talk to this man?

i recall this show. the guy playing 'rick' was funny as hell playing the cosby impersonator. i had not heard anything about the allegations about cosby, so i just thought of it as a bit about cosby hitting on tracy's aunt, and perhaps dumping her. all of this has made me wonder why the press protect some people and not others. if it was such an open secret that the cos was into this kind of shit, why was there such a conspiracy of silence for so long?

I was in the supermarket the other day and this story was on the cover of all the tabloids. nuts I'm tired of seeing his face and hearing these stories! I know it's insensitive to say this, but I don't care about this scandal.Hell,I'd rather talk about Kim Kardashian, lol

Bill was and is not a powerful man. Pressing charges was well within these women's power. But he is a popular man, which would subject them to scrutiny. I get that, but so what.

sadly, i think there is some element of truth to what you say. i don't buy the fact that cosby was "too big" to point a finger at. mj was the biggest star on the planet, and it didn't stop anyone from saying anything at any time about him, did it? i think every woman on the planet has run into a "pig" like bill who tries to force himself on you. you put them in their place. that type of man will generally move on. he's not looking for a fight, he's looking for a conquest. it seems to me that the running thread in all these allegations is that most were looking to parlay their attributes into something, and were willing to put up with his unconscionable behavior. as i'm typing this, right now on the radio, there is a woman telling her story about cosby. the interviewer asks her why, if cosby was trying to touch her breasts and such, would she have accepted a key to his room? she has no answer to that. well i do. you were a star effer, looking to hook up with this guy for some future benefit. now this woman is saying that "the next thing she knew", she, like the others, woke up in his room naked. let me emphasize that i do not in any way condone what cosby is alleged to have done. no one should be slipping "knock out" pills to anyone to incapacitate them. however, i also see how an unevolved man like cosby would get the idea that if you're the type of woman who follows him up to his room upon meeting him for the first time, you might be the type of woman who's up for anything, and he's going to treat you accordingly. these women want sympathy and i'm finding it hard to find any. in most cases, they willing went with him, accepted the drugs offered, few questions asked, got screwed, and now feel humiliated and used (and rightfully so). i feel sorry for someone like lou ferrigno's wife who was just hanging out with her friend, bill, and camille playing pool, only to have cosby try to stick his tongue down her throat. she did what i would have done and got the hell out of his house. but the majority of these women? no, i'm not particularly sympathetic. i'm sorry that they didn't learn from their mothers not to accept random drugs from anyone, and not to send the wrong signals to pigs who are feeling you up by going back to their hotel rooms with them. yet, anyone who questions their behavior is accused of being a cosby apologist.

Its really sad what they are doing to Bill Cosby. If these accusations are true then they should be investigated. However, I personally think these past jump offs are just looking for a pay check and jumping on the band wagon. So far nothing has been proven so why are people labeling him as a rapist? All this shit blew up from a joke a nobody comedian made and then a bunch of women started making accusations to media. Its clear that Bill trusted a lot folk that have turned on him. Im shocked with the amount of black people that have thrown him under the bus. Its not looking to good for his legacy at this point. Besides Raven, no other cast member from the Cosby show has said a word in his defense. That is very telling.

I do think its interesting that the 7th Heaven actor that revealed he abused children on tape, received small criticism in the media that did not last long and this Bill Cosby scandal (that is mostly filled with accusations and no investigations) has been going on for weeks, interesting.

[Edited 12/7/14 1:46am]

Well Bill Cosby is an icon and Stephen Collins is not (you didn't even mention his name, most people just know him as the father on 7th Heaven) It got alot of media attention but it has died down since both sides are not talking and there really isn't anything new to report. It will get attention again when his divorce with Faye Grant goes to trial and when the allegations of sexual abuse against minors goes to trial.

I'm curious about the bigger picture.

For example, Julian Assange was accused too. He has not seen daylight in years and basically is inprisoned in an ambassy without a trial.

It seems that the accusations are a mean of the US/Swedish government to make sure Julian Assange his life is not productive anymore.

This is an effective and intensively used strategy. A lot of protesters and activists have been silenced by sending them to jail. The FBI will incite them to conduct some criminal act, so the government can label them as terrorist and jail them.

It worked with Julian Assange, Jeremy Hammond, Cleveland 4, Chelsea Manning and so many more folks with a conscience.

So, there are two possibilities:

1. The story in the media is the genuine story. Cosby exploited his powerful position for his perverse sexual needs.

It gets a lot of attention because Bill Cosby was the icon of a good father and husband.

There is the horrific white counterpard of All Bundy. The name "Married with Children" explains it all. Oliver Stone referred to this in the opening scene of Natural Born Killers.

-sidenote- NBK was not understood. TV is still addicted to murder, serial killers and violence.-

So, there was this sexist and white trash sitcom of a man who abuses his wife psychologically and sexualizes his teenage daughter. And there was the funny sitcome of the Bill Cosby Show. Bill Cosby was funny and respectable. Everybody loved him and trough his show, people got used to seeing black people being succesful and very, very respectable. The show has had a great impact on the emancipation of both women and black people, around the world.

It's shocking that the epihany of how to be a good man to women, actually was a sexual predator.

In context for the younger orgers; for the majority it was very cool to be a sexual predator in the '80's. Watch Porky's and the police academy. So, The Cosby Show was a welcome -non sexist- show. Cosby even supported his wife her career. That is why it's such a deception if it turns out that he was a sexual predator, just like the rest.

The most tragic is, that the females have come forward with their story. Only when a man mentions it, it is considered credible enough to pay attention to it. That must be harsh for the alleged victims.

2. It's a mean do discredit Cosby, because he is considered a threat to some elite folks.

So, if Bill Cosby has to be devaluated, labeled as an incredible source, silenced or what more. The allegations still can be true, but are highlighted in the media for some effect.

I'm interested in what the consequences are for whom? The effect of the allegations about Julian Assange were that they had material to jail him. So he would not be free to criticize the government anymore.

Why would these women lie? And for who?

Who wins what when Cosby is discredited or jailed?

That are the questions that interest me.
I don't know if he is guilty or not.

It seems likely, because of the allegations and because it was usance.

The accuser, Barbara Bowman is much older today but she stil is drop Dead Gorgeous. That Lady has Movie-Star looks....The part that is kind of confusing is that she says she "thinks" he drugged and raped her decades ago in NYC, then she decided to go another date and he man-handled her that particular time....I mean, why go back for more of the same? I get that she was "networking" cuz we all do it, but I'm gonna wait and see what Bill has to say...Barbara has a right to tell her story but she lacks credibility if she never went to the authorites decades ago...She even talked about how Bill became "America's Dad" and she kept her mouth shut....It sorta sounds like she got angrier & angrier as Bill became more successful....Did something really happen or was she just a young actress that got Dumped hard by an A-lister?

Her story is swiss cheese--full of holes. Gloria Allred even passed on representing her. And that's why she never went to the police. She might have had to tell them the whole truth. From the age of 17 to 19, she was pimped out by her mother and her agent to rich, married men. Took acting classes and lived in a NYC apartment paid for by one particular rich, married man. While under the legal drinking age, regularly consumed alcohol (and who knows what else) during frequent late-night "mentoring" sessions at rich, married man's home and hotel rooms across the country. When it became apparent that getting "mentored" on the regular wasn't going to advance the acting career she was "meant to have", she went apeshit and caused a scene at the hotel. Girl, bye! Ain't nobody got time for a hooker that can't hold their liquor or maintain discretion! Decades of bitterness of a failed acting career has turned into "I was drugged and raped (i think) for two years" and "thrown out of New York". How the hell does one get thrown out of New York??? I don't know if she was raped or not or if Cosby is a serial rapist or not. I do know that her story is good on a ham sandwich with romaine, heirloom tomato, and a little country dijon Grey Poupon.

[Edited 11/17/14 11:20am]

So, a bunch of rich and famous adults exploited their position to get sex with a beautiful blonde child. She was not old enough to be able to grasp what kind of situations she was in.

The others were. Bill Cosby, his agent, her mother, and the other millionaires took advantage of a child.

And now that is her fault?

How?

Please, explain it to me, so I can understand.

Some of you really need to educate yourselves about rape and sexual violence.

Asking questions like "why didn't she go to the police?" or "why is she saying all this now?" or talking about her lifestyle choices and past to come to the conclusion that she is "not credible" or just lying to make money really show just how ignorant you are.

Or maybe you do not really want to educate yourselves so that you can continue to victim blame and discredit women as the vindictive, lying whores that they really are.

Don't like that your opinions are coming off as that? Then shut the fuck up until you actually educate yourself on sexual assault.

As a close friend of someone that was assaulted by a powerful famous man (who is finally being outed) seeing these bullshit comments really show just how ignorant many people are. It's disgusting.

Yes.

It seems that a lot of folks who loved Bill Cosby just don't want to know that he can be a sexual predator.

It's called the Halo-effect and is shocks me that people will go to great lengths, so they can believe in their positive image of Bill Cosby.

Something to remember when you think the other is a good human being:

Psychopaths are charming and the good ones will die being celebrated. Because everybody loved the psychopath. A psychopath does not look like Hanibal Lector, he looks handsome, succesfull, funny, charming, charitative, helpfull and in general being a good person.

When cases such as this comes to light...when a pattern of sexually assaulted has been alleged the same talking points always appear: Attack, blame the victim, dismissiveness, and finally, question the motives of the victim.

It doesn't matter if the victim is an adult, a child, female, male, or a teenager. Victims of sexual assault all have something in common; many never come forward because they think they won't be believed. The relationship between the victim and the attacker are seldom on the same level, socially, economically and/or physically. As I've said here before, class, gender and race always plays a role on who gets punished and those who aren't touched.

People in authority who possess clout, celebrity, money, power, and prestige are often given the benifit of the doubt. Is it because you think we know these people? Less be clear, rape is a crime of violence; carried out by men who loath woman. When Mr. Cosby settled out of court in 2006, nine woman came forward and claimed they had been violated in the same manner. So, did these woman meet up at Starbucks and plan how they were going to get some money out of a wealth man? They would have been better served if they had gotten "knocked up".

Pathetic.

It's more likely that these other women finally dared to speak up.

And of course it will be twisted into She wants to get rich. What about a very real paying for the damage the rapist caused?

Without knowing all the facts, I don't like to go along with either side. Too easy to demonize the accusers or the accused. I WILL say though, that recent events in my life have led me to not jump to conclusions about this type of thing.

One of my best friends, a person I've known for almost 30 years, was recently arrested for covertly taking sexual pictures of his teenaged step-daughter and her friends without their knowledge.

When word of this reached me, I was devastated. I couldn't believe this person, whom I've shared so much with over the years, had this dark, twisted side. I knew he himself was a survivor of perpetual sexual abuse by a family member for years...our experiences with this common element were one of the things we bonded over. This is why I was just so incredibly bowled over when I got the news.

I wanted to believe it wasn't true, but the evidence is iron-clad. It's easy to say someone doesn't fit your vision of a sex predator, so therefore they couldn't be, but I assure you this isn't the case. NO ONE who knows my friend reacted with "oh yeah, I could totally see that". Instead, the reactions have been, uniformally, ones of shock and disbelief.

I know it's easy to dismiss the allegations because Cosby was a man who made us laugh. For people of my generation, he hosted "Fat Albert" and taught us life lessons in-between the commercial breaks. His stand-up cracked us up, and he was the ultra-friendly, seemingly perfect American Father Figure who visited us every Thursday. How could this man be a deviant? A rapist? Is it even possible that he is capable of such a vile act? Unfortunately, yes...it is entirely possible.

I'm not saying he is guilty. He is a celebrity, and they are often the target of extortion schemes or campains from opportunists seeking their 15 minutes of fame. I'll give you all of that. At the same time, it is just as likely that Mr. Cosby has a dark, sick perversion that we've never seen in his public persona. Oftentimes, the most dangerous individuals in the world are able to hide their sociopathic tendencies and blend in with society. Ted Bundy, Dennis Rader and HH Holmes, just to name a few, were respected individuals that friends and family never suspected of their horrible double-lives.

My point with this is, have an open mind for both sides of the story. Don't automatically decide Cosby is innocent because of your pre-conceived notions of him, and don't engage in assuming that the accusers all have ulterior motives. Likewise, don't have the knee-jerk reaction that the man is guilty just because he is accused. There is obviously more to this story than we know, and it all will come to light in time.

Well Mr. Cosby's Team is going after Accuser 15. In Dickison's book she stated Bill simply "blew her off" and no mention of Sex. Now Dickison is going on TV and crying and claiming she was drugged, raped and she forgot to put it in the Book..Did she forget she wrote a book or did the thing Flop so bad she wanted to forget? A reporter raised a Good question..13 women were suppose to come forward in the last Rape Allegation hype years ago but they decided not to when Cosby settled with the Accuser..."Why did the 13 Women disappear after the settlement?" They had nothing to lose coming forward after Bill settled with the Accuser...Why wait for a Comedian to make a joke about it to jump on the bandwagon again? Very valid questions...It makes you wonder if these women are simply looking for Fame and they need a vehicle to get them to the Bank....If you're serious then be serious...Fuck the settlements....Tell your story to anybody and everybody, stop waiting for the right opportunity or pre-settlement talks to come forward...

You really think females are believed when they tell their story?

Society only started paying attention when a man told their story!

You seem to be inclined to blame te victims and stick with Cosby as a hero. Why?

Who knows what the truth is any more--it's turned into a media witch hunt a la Michael Jackson.

I have a feeling that this scandal will be like the R.Kelly situation....we'll hear all these accusations, but nothing will happen to Bill. His fans will shrug and look the other way.I don't think any of these charges could be proven in court, anyway.

I think so too.

Compare R. Kelly with Rob Lowe.

R. Kelly didn't even notice that he did something wrong.

Whereas Rob Lowe had to kiss his career goodbey for a few decades.

I sure did, and it did not say anything about "groupie sex" or any mention of what actually really happened behind those closed doors - consensual or not.

You came up with all that on your own.

The article says he made payments to certain women (e.g. the woman that was getting money to help pay for her son's private school), women that he feels had sex with him - not that he was paying them for sex. It does not mention any payment to the modelling agency for bringing girls to his room or any payments given to those girls.

You have no idea what arrangements Cosby had with those women and you have NO IDEA what was told to those young aspiring models when they were told to go in the room with him - especially if some of them were children.

Discuss what's being said in the article, stop making up shit.

That's called Groupie sex,

replace Bill with a rock or pop star or a hot actor, and it's the same thing

Stop acting like people/women are niave

You are the one adding a spin 'children' No one ever said they were children

and it is speculation on the ages.

If Bill is guilty of something here so is Frank Scotti and the modelling agency, because even Frank said the Lady know what was happening

.

If Michael Jackson was guilty of child molestation, then so were every single parent that dropped their children off, even after they heard of allegations.

Yes, the enablers are guilty too.

This is about men in powerful positions who choose to indulge in sex with young people, because they can.

There was the option to not exploit these young girls/boys, some even children. That would have been the right choice.

Anybody who actively enables the (sexual) abuse of children, is guilty.

If you have fans, you are not forced to have sex with them, righ?

Yeah, you're completely weird. I just can't bother anymore, your posts are just so odd, all over the place contradictory, and mostly totally out to lunch.

good

Your statement is important.

You assume that white girls are above black men.

That is not the case. Who got elected, Obama or Hillary?

White girls are used as the embodiment of innocence in rape cases against black men.

But that does not mean that white girls are above black men.

It just means, that in the fight against black men, it's effective to use white women.

White women are not princesses.

Women only recently were allowed to make money for themselves and be in charge of their own money with a bank account.

A lot of white people have no idea of their white privelege. Do you blame them for their ignorance?

The majority of men have no idea about their male privelege. Should I blame them for their ignorance?

A few issues I have with these allegations

.

1.) People are looking back into history and shadowing 1960 1970s Bill Cosby with after the Cosby Show famed Bill. Bill Cosby wasn't some Super Star powerhouse in the periods the accusations are coming from. Maybe I'm wrong.

Exactly. So, the claim that these women just want to get their 15 minutes of fame, by accusing Bill Cosby, is ridiculous.

.

2.) A 'Black' man rapping white women in the period of 1967-1982 and being afraid to come forward. Maybe the women are not prejudiced people. But I have a hard time believing his fame outweighed the times. Because he wasn't a superstar during that time.

Black man always have been above women. Also the white women. White women were just means to satisfy the needs of men. Make no mistake.

When it was useful, white women were used as material to jail black men. But that does not mean that white women are above black men. Imo, black men are above white women in the hierarchy of western society.
