Now i am a guy with a beard. I have had one since i was a young kid. I'm a naturally hairy person so it just comes and go. But some people are insane for beards nowadays. Grant it I'm sure people have always liked beards. But as of recent it's a huge ''fashion statement''

Beards are basically the new masculine. I have heard people say they won't anyone without a beard. And that they wouldn't even look at a guy without one

Just seems the beard has taken over nowadays. Why do you think that is? i know what people see as ''attractive'' seems to change year to year. It used to be the pretty boy a few years ago.

It's a hipster thing that has caught on. Which means, of course, that soon all hipsters will be clean-shaven. Or something.

I agree with Rodeo...we can blame the hipsters for these crazy beards that are in fashion right now.

I have a trimmed beard but only because I lack a defined jawline. It started as a "goatee" back in 1997 and morphed into full beard that I eventually trimmed into a thin one about 3 years ago.

About 8 years ago I shaved it all off...my kids told me to go back to my old look.

Maybe when I turn 50 I'll shave it all off so that I look younger. Hopefully if the Hipsters decide to go clean-shaven I'll miss it and they'll be back to goatees or something by then.

I'm always so confused with trends just a few years ago beards were gross. I had people (friends) and even others at the gym. Tell me i looked homeless now people think i look attractive or ''interesting'' cause of my beard. It's almost like a fetish now

Y'all remember the ''real men wear pink'' movement? started by Cam'ron (When he was popular 1,000 years ago) that was my 8th grade year. And all the dudes i worked out with on the football team. And the skater guys too all wore pink. And acted like they were badass because of it

Not even a fucking year later. It was ''gay'' to be wearing pink again.

They are hyper masculine and I suppose many women (gay men) are attracted to that...however, if you can easily grab the hair with your fingers - congrats, you look 20 years older than you really are and your beard is probably considered disgusting to most.

Scruff is manly but still youthful and sexy, bushy beards are for old men. Weird, but somehow true to most women.

I admit, I guess I am following the trend. I'm doing it just because, after years of working in professional environments where I can't have beards, tattoos, or piercings... I've decided to seek a new career where I can be myself. Even if it means a more relaxed, laid-back, and carefree self that doesn't shave. I'm happier - and feel like if you can, why not!

Pffft, I don't know. I've had a beard for over 10 years. I just prefer how I look with it. I usually keep it quite short, but occasionally I like it longer. I change my mind about the length I like to keep it, but never about having the beard in general. So used to it now.

It's protecting their face from sun damage, yet they don't get to show off that youthful skin underneath.

I will be glad when this trend is over because most men look ugly with a full beard. They don't trim and maintain them properly so they end up looking like stray dogs. Yuck.

A light beard is sexy but when it comes to a thick redneck looking beard, hell naw. I can take or leave a beard. However, all men should have a mustache. I mean, all men. A man just doesn't look like a man without a mustache.

With the exception of black and brown men (on whom I think well-groomed, permanent beards and goatees often look fantastic), I generally prefer full-on facial hair only as an occasional and fleeting display of masculinity. The novelty can be really arresting on a guy who's usually clean-shaven... but it gets old fast.
