And that's why. Although, even in the mass herd that is the current cast, I can still see the talent of Kate McKinnon shining through.

I was thinking the same thing--Mad TV was great when SNL was lame. Made me literally fall on the floor laughing.

Do you guys also remember a show called "Fridays"? It originally featured Michael Richards, Mark Blankfield, Rich Hall, and Larry David - amongst a few others - in the cast. It ran Friday nights, late, from 1980-1982. Copying the 'SNL' format, the show was also hosted by a celebrity each week, there was a musical guest, and even a weekly newsdesk segment. AC/DC, the Stray Cats, and the Clash all made their American television debuts on "Fridays" as well. I really liked it and thought it was better than 'SNL' at the time. Here's a pic of the cast:

I remember this show, though was to young to stay up to watch it. Wish they would play it on Comedy Central. I know Journey appeared on one episode
