It's a pretty sad story even though there were many years I was happy so I don't think you wanna know....lost my happiness a good while ago and my hopes and dreams this year

Was an only child to a paranoid-schizophrenic, drug-abusing, alcoholic mother (who married 5 times).

Came out to my mom and told her I was gay at 17.

Moved out on my own to a big city when I was just 18.

Worked 3 jobs at once to support myself.

Ended up DJing in clubs in the late 80's and early 90's.

Found I could make a lot of money as an escort.

Became HIV+ in 1993.

Two years later, I met a married man 20 years older who left his wife for me.

Was able to go to college to become a teacher.

Earned my Master's degree in teaching.

Hate what teaching has become, so I quit.

Have tried other things, like acupuncture school, culinary arts school.

Unhappy in what I've done with careers and always feeling unhappy or successful.

Recently diagnosed with severe brain atrophy from 21 years of HIV meds.

Currently rethinking life and what to do next.

On the plus side, I am still with the man I met in 1995.

wow, man... you've definitely had more than your share of challenges... it's great that you've been able to maintain a 20 year relationship though... that's no small feat

i hope the "what to do next" part comes to you and brings you a lot of satisfaction

That was my neighbor's name!
