I dunno. The Matrix trailer was pretty cool, but it didn't make me feel the same way the trailer for the first did.

Plus, I think the Matrix's characters are a bit less emotionally accessible than the X-men's

RD this movie is gonna be the shit. There were three movies i couldn't wait for the sequel to. Blade(sequel was ok), Xmen(sequel was good), and the Matrix which if the pattern i see is correct, could be my favorite movie of all time.
I hope i'm not disappointed(like that shitty U.S release for Godzilla barf ).

One thing though..this movie has all the makings to let people down because the first one was ...well, the shit. But form what I read, last fall, this one is breathtaking.

mad I would pay just to see the trailor. If they can just loop them for two hours i will pay. Those effects are mindblowin. Plus they got all of the originals back(just like x-men). That's always a good sing for a sequel.

I think the "R" rating is pretty inconsequential for a series like The Matrix. It has a big enough cult following and an established enough reputation of violence that the rating will neither boost its hardcore credibility nor hurt its box office returns.

As for the FX... yeah, they're beautiful, but there was nothing that made me totally shutter like the first time I saw the first movie's spinning freeze frame. Trinity and the Agent falling from the skyscraper firing guns is cool, the crows surrounding Agent Smith were cool and the multiple Agent Smiths are cool, but the rest didn't look too innovative to me. Just old CGI stuff.

I worry the first movie set the bar too high for even the second and third installments to jump. But I also have my fingers crossed.

And where the heck was Persephone in the new trailor!?!?

Im not saying it wont do good at the box office..it will..Im saying that is a factor in what it could actually gross, it not being a PG-13 movie.

Not many have seen the freeway epic scene in it's entriety and those that have says its the "new style" as was the first Matrix fx feature that set its own standard. Not including the "supes" stuff.
