Why Is ''I AM GOD'' Scary?

I have read a lot of horror stories with this reference. Especially on that site creppypasta.

I also see all these horror or psychological movies. With some character saying ''GODS DEAD'' in big bold letters. or ''GOD HAS ABANDONED US'' or men trying to play god... or be god...

Why is it always god? why not someone else? biggrin

Why not BUDDHAS DEAD! I AM BUDDHA! Well.. actually Buddha was a pretty nice guy. And not technically a GOD. And he's not really hated by as many people as god. So many that won't work?

DEATH TO ALLAH!! ALLAH HAS ABANDONED US!!! I AM ALLAH~

Ok... now we're getting somewhere. What about Jehovah has abandoned us? that's... er... it kinda works.

I think it's time for horror movies to expand! hell why not use greek gods while your at it. Death to Zues could be used in a great serial killer movie. If the killer was like a GOD of war or something.

I don't find any religious horror stories scary. That includes anything with ghosts in it.

Aside from jump scenes, the mythos surrounding such stories is just not scary to me.
But, I'm an atheist, so I would imagine mine is a typical response.

Well maybe they do in other countries (I'm sure they wouldn't say anything bad about Allah in the Arab/Muslim countries). Japan makes alot of horror movies, since the major religons are Shinto/Buddhism so do they refer to their gods? India makes tons of movies, not sure if they do horror movies and if so do they refer to their gods as well

The Christian God and Christians are under attack in America. It would be considered very offensive to attack other deities in film, media. Evil is seen as a good thing and people can no longer distinguish between good and evil. Most people believe evil is cool and are dead inside.
What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?
