i'd be freaked out too, if a smelly, angry clown carrying a gun began hanging around in my neighborhood. not sure i'd go near that one. i gots a case of coulrophobia. do you?

A rash of "creepy clown" sightings in California has left some residents unnerved.

It all appears to have started with the "Wasco Clown."

According to KernGoldenEmpire.com, the clown's appearances -- and subsequent social media postings -- in the San Joaquin Valley city are part of a photography project launched by a husband and wife team who wish to remain anonymous.

But copycat clowns have arrived on the scene, including one who was reportedly armed.

The Bakersfield Californian said police received a call about someone in a clown suit brandishing a weapon.

"We've had multiple (sightings) of these clown sightings all over town," Bakersfield police Lt. Ja...blication. "He was gone by the time we arrived."

The Los Angeles Times said Bakersfield police arrested a teen in another incident in which he allegedly dressed as a clown and pursued other teens, scaring them.

Coulrophobia is the formal term for the fear of clowns.

The only clowns that scare me are the ones in Congress and on the Supreme Court.

It's all fun & games...until Bozo gets his head blown off.

I'm not fond of clowns either. The other night I had a nightmare that I was looking out of a second floor window and across the street a clown baloon was floating toward a shopping center, which was next to a school. As the balloon came closer to the street it flew lower and lower.

Suddenly it went way back up in the air and several people dressed like clowns came into the street and started dancing, which drew people around them to watch. When the people got close the clowns started attacking them or shooting them or something.....I couldn't see exactly what, but I kept yelling "get down!" out of my window.


Then I woke up....it reminded me of that scene in one of the Batman movies except Batman didn't come.
