Another athlete dead - RIP wrestler Sean O'Haire

Former WWE Wrestler Sean O'Haire Dies of Apparent Suicide

Former WCW and WWE wrestler Sean O'Haire was found dead Tuesday of an apparent suicide, TMZ.com reports. He was 43 years old.

According to local police, O'Haire was found in his bedroom in his South Carolina home with rope tied around his neck and connected to his bedpost. His body was discovered by his father, who called 911.

In late 2003, O'Haire was in a motorcycle accident and parted ways with the WWE in April 2004. He moved on to New Japan Pro Wrestling and the independent circuit before retiring from professional wrestling in 2006. He subsequently competed in mixed martial arts and kickboxing before becoming a hairstylist.

The life expectancy for WWE wrestlers is so tragically short.

It seems almost commonplace nowadays for heavily-muscled athletes to drop dead in their 30's or 40's due in no small part to the use of so many chemicals.

When you see mental illness play a part, it's even more heartbreaking.

Here is someone who had his 15 minutes of fame - and at such a young age (I'm 43 as well so YEAH I'm saying YOUNG)for whatever reasons he decides to end his life.

Tragic. Depression is serious.

There is definitely a connection between steroid use and depression. It makes you violent, too. This cop where I used to work at years ago, blew his brains out, right there on the site. It was horrible. He was battling depression, and would beat up his wife. It turns out he was taking steroids. He was very buff, like this wrestler.

Yeah, that's truly horrific. I hadn't thought about that before.
