Black Actors/Actresses and the ACADEMY!

With the OVER FUCKIN ABUNDANCE of rappers and comedians taking over REAL actors jobs in Hollywood. Will there ever be an Academy Award winner that doesn't play a clown, or downtrodden soul, or negative image for Black Actors??

it's no big deal that Rappers are getting into the Movie game.at least they know they will get a PayCheck unlike the Record Hustle.anyway Acting all around Hollywood is Watered-down IMHO so it's all fair game.besides when a Actor like Denzel or Halle Wins it still comes with a Chain or a Stereotype attached to it.if you Win the Oscar unless you are Denzel,Sydney or Halle you Lose.Cuba Gooding Jr ain't gonna Win another award.or look at Louis Gosett Jr? "Iron Eagle" part 88.

Please check the magazine INTERVIEW. The edition with Kate Hudson on the cover has got a cool interview with this guy called Bone, who used to be in gangs and prison, but now seems to break through into moviemaking.
He also made a docu about gangs and where they come from.

As soon as the African American community knows how to break their own mould, they will start making a bigger impression on white institutes. Believe me, lots of African Americans are making their impressions, but just not in the limelight.
The Hughes Brothers, Sidney Poitier, Spike Lee, Denzel Washington and Halle Berry. I know the lsit is not long.

Here's the thing, Hollywood is known as one of the most close minded, spineless people in the entertainmetn business, which mean they're not willing to take chances and only want to use the same thing that they've been using all along, all because they know it works and they can depend on the sales of the product even though it's been use over and over again, kind of like the record business.

So the reason why you see singers and actors in movies instead of legitimat actors and actresses, is all because people are familiar with these faces. Let's say if that if a new movie was coming out, a black movie in particular and I will even go as far as to say, let's pretend as if it's a old movie that's getting ready to be done, like Carmen Jones, Beyounce got the part, not because she was a good actress, but because the white audience is familar with her face, the director knew people would watch it just to see how beyounce is going to act, rather then getting you average struggling actress who's nobody ever heard, no body will watch it right?

So that's the thing, People are willing to watch familiar faces instead of fresh new faces, More people would pay to see a Dezenl Washington movie staring Busta Rhymes, rather then going to see a newly directed movie from a unheard actress regardless if it's a good storyline to it... I mean it doesn really make since, but that's just the way it is, Queen Latifah is getting roles your average black actress is dying over... unfair mad

And to answer you question, no, Hollywood and AMerica is fixated with sterotypical roles played by minorities except for JLO mad
