Since we are on the brink of war. I dedicate this poem(which happens to be a song)
Feel free to post a poem that fits your war mood. Enjoy: PEACE Peace, whoa oh/Peace/That's what we're here for/And not to war When the war upon people of color thru needles/Designed to disease instead of relieve When it ceases/I'll be a man of peace (Say what)/When this mask of vendetta/Like tears on the face of Coretta Roll down and go away/I'll be happier (Happier)/I'll be a man of peace Everybody say!/Peace, whoa oh/Peace/That's what we're here for (That's what we're here for)/And not to war When the time that we spend/Watching TV depends on Whether or not it destroy or transcend/Then I won't need (I won't, I won't)/Won't need a warranty When the power of the hour is not yours but is ours And the faces we see reflect all that we be indeed There'll be a jubilee Everybody say/Peace, whoa oh/Peace/That's what we're here for (That's what we're here for)/And not to war/Bass (Talkin' about freedom)/The rewards that we share will be based on what's fair And not the curliness or the thick of our hair/Real competition, if you dare! Music is our middle name/And we don't wanna play your game So when the mergers you make are with us/ And you take a fair slice of the cake/That we bake then you break That would be real cool/But y'all wanna act like fools! (What's up with that?)/Can't we all just get along? And have peace, whoa oh/Peace/That's what we're here for And not to war/Peace/Peace/Peace, whoa oh/Peace That's what we're here for/And not to war

perhaps there's an appropriate Prince song to dedicate to sick, starving Iraqi children, and murdered Iraqi parents
come on! there must be something for that in the vault somewhere.

Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace You may say that I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will be as one Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world You may say that I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one - John Lennon

As you requested, excerpt from "Money Don't Matter" Hey now, maybe we can find a good reason 2 send a child off 2 war So what if we're controllin' all the oil Is it worth a child dying 4? (Is it worth it?) If long life is what we all live 4 then long life will come 2 pass Anything is better than the picture of the child in a cloud of gas And U think U got it bad

I'm feeling really bad now because I thought SuperC was using the old
"We're going to war. You don't want to die a virgin do you?" line to try and score. Bad me. I'm firmly planted in denial

Epitaph on a Tyrant
Perfection, of a kind, was what he was after And the poetry he invented was easy to understand; He knew human folly like the back of his hand, And was greatly interested in armies and fleets; When he laughed, respectable senators burst with laughter, And when he cried the little children died in the streets. -- W. H. Auden . [This message was edited Wed Mar 19 13:43:52 PST 2003 by 2the9s]

Doodlebugs
A bomb, last night, fell close by Radlett. The pulsing engine stopped right overheard. Four minutes to the crash. Slowly we counted; One girl cried, "Oh God! dear God!" The tension grew to bursting point; the blast Shattered the windows. We breathed again. Always the bombs come over in early evening Just before we go on shift. We talk of rush-hour traffic But underneath the fear remains. Death can come From so many angles. Tomorrow, next week, next month It may not pass us by. -- Grace Griffiths (1944) [A "doodlebug" is a bomb with wings. Hitler launched these against London]
