What mobile phone do you have?

Mine:

Why do you have the phone that you have, and if you don't have one...why?

At the moment, my main phone is an Ericsson T68. The reason is:

  • It has Bluetooth
  • It has GPRS
  • It is tri-band GSM
  • It is nice and small with good battery life

Really, no other handset out there has all of these specs in one unit apart from the new Siemens S55.
The larger devices such as the SonyEricsson P800, the Nokia 7650 and the Nokia 3650... I have used these devices a lot and although they certainly have the specs, they are far too big and impractical.

With my laptop, my T68 and Bluetooth/GPRS I can online all the time, pretty much anywhere.

  • Nokia 8265 (TDMA/AMPS)
  • Nokia 3390 (GSM) -- to be retired next month

I'm going back from GSM to TMDA (with AMPS as a backup). While GSM may be the future of mobile phones, the coverage in the U.S. is currently not very good. I've already had to deal with GSM coverage problems in Maine. Maybe I'll try it again in another year or two, especially if a good GSM/TDMA/AMPS or even GSM/AMPS phone becomes available.

Sure, GSM is fine when I'm at home or in another major city, or along most major highways, but if my car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, I'd like to be able to call AAA for help.

I just have some sort of Nokia phone at the moment. I don't know much else about it, and I got it because it was just given to me.

I'm gonna buy my missus one of those cute little Sharp GX10. Not very high spec but she can use the built-in camera for taking pics of all the neighbourhood cats and stuff.

I bought my wife a Motorola V something. Little grey one with the flip-lid.

Looks nice but it's really quite useless.

As for me, I find it a little boring. I will get one in a few weeks when I'm back in Thailand, but I don't really see what the fuss is about. I'll be happy with a second hand 3310. nod

Anyone got the Sony Eriksson T600?

A friend got that free with cable and it's damn small!
