Hemlock Grove OK, I broke down and watched the 2nd season. It has me more befuddled than season 1. What the heck is going on?? And what the heck is that flying stingrayish thing?? I really hate being inundated with a ton of mystery that'll never get answered because the writers will get to a dead end and just drop it like it never happened BUT. That's not what peaked my interest. Miranda's relationship with Roman & Peter, isn't it terrible? Why, she's such a... A what?

It's weird. Actually, it's just one cliche after another, a complete mish mashing various lores all together to try to look unique when in reality it isn't unique storyline, a couple of "special" young hot guys who want to be heros, and it just uses a lot of gross outs and juve hooks. Oddly the dark staging of it holds my attention, and the facial expressions make me laugh.

i would like to like Hemlock, i've dismissed it thrice offhandedly and it deserves better, eh?
for me i'm interested in the phenom of seeing Netflix publishing its own 'original' series. for that purpose, someone could easily compile an extract of the most trendy themes in the Netflix popular viewing stats. then, integrate them over a planned 4-5 year running time, thereby shaping not only the show but the watchers as well, by interacting with their preferences and heightening their own personal movie-watching trips.
i wonder how long it will be before AI takes over writing? think how easily a computer could generate rough drafts based on the easily compilable popular themes/plots which would be editable by a third-party? [Edited 7/28/14 15:55pm]
