It all makes sense to me now! The past month or so, the show has REALLY sucked. The writing, the interactions, etc. But, it seems that Sherri and Jenny are toast. It will be interesting to see who replaces them in the coming weeks and months.

Honestly, The View should've been cancelled on THE same day that Barbara retired from the show & ABC News.

If TPTB would put women of intelligence instead of d listers on the panel ABC could get a couple of more years out of the show. I stopped watching this year cause I cant stand Sherri and she thought that she was going to take over the show by constantly talking over everyone.

Jenny doesn't bother me per se but she added nothing to the discussions. Whoopi just phones it in probably would have been a good idea to ax her also.

Fast spreading rumor is that they are bring back Rosie.

About a day or so ago, I was watching the View and was like okay they're talking about bullying. I changed channels and came back to the View about 10 minutes later and they were STILL talking about bullying. Give me a break. They have run out of things to talk about.

Oh, and about a month ago, I sent an email to ABC complaining about how the women talk over each other too much. I bet I wasn't the only one either.

Surprisingly, the knock off show "The Talk" is getting better and they don't talk over each other at all (at least not too much). That's pretty bad when the knockoff show outshines the original!

It seemed that the closer it got to Barbara's departure (and ultimate departure) the worse the show got, especially with Sherri. She would just dominate conversations to the point where I couldn't take it any more. Sometimes, I think she would blurt out the first thing that came to mind just to be the first one to hear herself talk about her weaves, Jeffrey or dating, etc.

I was doing the same thing and would switch over to Wendy Williams I think the writers on the show probably knew their time was up so the effort just wasn't there. They completely unraveled the nanosecond after Barbara left. I also got sick of them asking people to send in their "selfies" as if they were going to post ALL of the submissions.

I watched maybe 4 episodes all season long. I do not like it without Joy.

From the reports I read online, it appears Sherri Shepard jumped ship before being pushed off, but it looks like Jenny McCarthy was fired. I only caught a couple of episodes, but it seemed like Jenny was just sort of like wallpaper, which was not why they hired her in the first place. But then again ABC got complaints for hiring her in the first place based mostly on her anti-vaccination views.

Fans of “The View” are still in shock over news that co-hosts Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy are leaving the ABC morning show. What’s even more surprising is who might be replacing them!

After 17 seasons of female co-hosts, it seems Barbara Walters and company might be open to hiring a man or two to join the panel.

Two names have popped up so far: funnyman Ross Matthews and sports commentator Jesse Palmer.

Walters hinted that a man could be joining the chat show back in April. She told "Extra's" AJ Calloway, “‘The View’ is entering its 18th year. I thought when I created it, the show might last two years. These women are wonderful, and I don’t know, maybe, maybe we’ll add a man… ah, what a thought.”

Walters added, “I think we’ll try some different people, and I think it would be nice to add a man, stay tuned.”

^meh. Obviously ABC/Disney doesn't want thoughtful intelligent conversation on the view.

That's an excellent point! Sherri's name was on every single show when news of her divorce dropped. The two pending lawsuits involving ex-husband and soon-to-be ex-hubby #2 doesn't help at all. I guess ABC was doing damage control more than anything.

Sherri was my favorite, I think yeah she is a tad annoying at times (who isnt) but she has a sweet, naive side. I also loved that she is a huge Prince fan. She is fun to watch on Newlywed Game. I wonder if that gig is gonna be gone too due to her messy personal situation. I feel sort of sad for her to lose her A-gig while going through all that personal strife.

Probably the worst moment is when Jenny announced she was engaged and Sherri totally overreacted. This is of course before it leaked that Sherri was getting her 2nd divorce and thus prompted her to act so "happy" about someone else's engagement/marriage. Total side show it was.

Where did you read this about Woody Allen? I wouldn't be surprised if this were true because it's known that this man has done some things that would have landed anyone else in prison for a long time. He's a well-connected perv.

Thanks for the links. I wouldn't be surprised if this was part of the reason that Sherri was fired. The subtext here is that Barbara was defending a man who admitted that he messed around with an underage girl and nothing has happened to him. There are also reports saying that he abused other children as well. How the hell does Barbara support that mess? This was probably the most intelligent discussion Sherri ever had on the show in her seven years there.

I have my reasons why I think Barbara was supporting Woody Allen but I'm gonna keep that to myself.

Whoopi's silence is also indicative that she doesn't want to rock the boat but if a black celebrity did that disgusting crap that Woody Allen did/does, Whoopi would crucify them! Whoopi is skilled at playing both sides from the middle.
