George Clooney: Is he faking it?

Okay folks, I can't help but to wonder what is REALLY motivating George Clooney's sudden engagement and what appears to be a rush to the alter. Personally, I think that George might be using this wedding as a ruse. First of all, he's made it pretty clear that he wants to go into politics and has apparently done some charity work abroad. I've read that his fiance is a legal advisor for Julian Assange and has a lot of connections as an international attorney. I'm not saying that Clooney couldn't get in politicis with his fiance, BUT I think it would be much easier to navigate through her network then spend tons of time and effort trying to woo people on his own.

Also, she's in her mid-30s and maybe he assumes that he is striking while it's hot, assuming that she may be itching for a baby. Given all of the rumors that have swirled around Clooney for a LONG time regarding his sexuality, could it be that this relationship is all smoke and mirrors?

George Clooney has not been doing a little charity. He always has been politically engaged. You probably have missed that, because you only know him from gossip magazines?

The lady he is marrying is a good catch. She is bright and build a live on her morals and values. And if you would know a little bit more about the subjects that have always interested George Clooney, you would know that both of them feel passionately about the same political and humane subjects.

And both of them dedicate a lot of their life to these themes. They clearly share the same values and morals. Which is a good basis for a loving and happy marriage.

The fact that you suspect them to only use each other for their personal gaines, says more about you than about them.

I think they can and will be a great team and have a very happy marriage. That they team up and go into politics makes perfect sense to me. I hope they will be succesful and achieve some change.

At least it is for sure that they don't go into politics for the money. They don't need more than they currently have. It's about their ideals and wanting to make a change. And I admire them for doing that.

Your post reveals how you think, not how they think.

He waited for the right one.

or he was too spoilt for choice, when you believe you could have anyone you want, suddenly you start thinking "does she really deserve me? Is she good enough? what if 'the one' is still around the corner?" boxed

I'm the mistake you wanna make

Yes. That is waiting for the right one.

It's not about believing you can have anybody you want. It's a choice to wait until you know it's the one. Everybody asks those questions to themselves. And if you decide he/she is not the one, it's unethical to stay. The other deserves somebody who loves him/her. Not somebody who is waiting around for the one.

That could be it as well but there just seems to be somethin a bit suspect about this. He might be going to "Tom Cruise" route.

One thing that puzzles me is that on one hand, he was consider such a huge "bachelor" in Hollywood. Then, the gay rumors surface too? How in the world is this guy a bachelor but a closet case?

Okay, if it weren't for the fact that Donald Sterling and Mick Jagger are "dating" women in their 20s, I'd agree with you here wink

Tom Cruise = Scientology???

It seems that George would go through women every 2 years, and that is only the dating. He is obviously ready to settle down and has found "the one". I'm sure he has drawn up a pre-nup. You worry too much about a man who don't know you.

I already mentioned that he has political plans. I dunno, seems like he's using his fiance for his own personal gain. Just my opinion.

I don't understand your point.

If he and hes fiancee share the same political interests, and team up, in order to become stronger than they are when staying on their road alone, what is wrong with that?

In the past these two people have proven to be passionate about human rights and politics. They both invested their money, time and talents into making a change.

Now that they found eachother and fell in love, probably because they recognize that joint passion in eachother, it seems only logical that they pursue their life goals together.

Why does that make him a coldhearted guy who is taking advantage of a woman?

To me, it seems they both will be a lot happier together then when they would not be together.

And yes, that is because what they both bring to the table. Their passion, their interests, intellect, experience, money, knowledge, network, personalities. All these things seem to fit very well with these two people.

To me, their marriage and teaming up as a political couple, makes perfect sense.

I don't understand why you consider this relationship to be solely benificial for George Clooney, and why he is an egoistic, self serving opporunistic guy, for wanting to marry her.

These two people clearly are in love and very happy that they found eachother. And to me, it seems like a perfect match. What is greater in life, then finding your mate and being able to live up to your shared values together?

I really don't understand what makes you so distrustful of George Clooney. What in his past or current behaviour makes you confinced that he is marrying her, just for his own political gain, and not because he is genuinely in love with her?

George Clooney has always been a strong supporter of human rights.

Also for gay people.

I don't think he would be a person who would stay in the closet when he would be gay. I think he would be open about it.

Why would George Clooney not be open about being gay, if he was?

He has been going from affair to affair with beautiful, tall women. Not with beautiful men.

To me, that is a clue that he is not gay.
