Star Wars VII cast revealed (Spoilers)

Is it my imagination, or does the casting of unknown Daisy Ridley totally give the game away. She Looks like a DNA splicing of Natalie Portman, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford. Well casted!

If they go with the storyline about a Solo kid turning to the dark side, I wonder if they will keep the Yuuzhan Vong invasion story?

I know that alot of fans are holding out against hope that they bring Admiral Thrawn into the mix, but I personally would welcome the Vong into the film.

R2 in the box is hilarious. I want Luke to be a crazy jedi wizard living isolated on a planet. I want Leia to basically be bitch cranky Carrie Fisher and Ford will get his wish to kill off Solo.

Don't know if you saw the press release a couple of days ago, but they have confirmed that the Expanded Universe is definately not canon. That said, I bet they throw the fans a couple of links.

Apparently, Harrison Ford's role is "gigantic" in Ep 7. I wonder if Harrison will get the Solo death he always wanted. He'll be the new Qui Gonn / Obi, first film major death.

JJ Abrams love sentimetality and role reversals.

I can see Solo going out in a blaze of glory saving his daughter and solidifying the new bad guy.

Last words?? It has to be a dying solo to distraught Daughter....

Daughter: "I Know".

I suggest an alternate timeline twist like JJ did on Star Trek

like going back 50 years and trigger something so that the events from the prequels never happened eek

I'm quoting! I'm quoting! That line is said in EVERY Star Wars movie.

But I really do have bad feeling about this possibly being fluff over substance like the JJ Star Trek stuff or Super-8

It's no surprise that Star Wars is going to be a huge part of Disney's upcoming D23 Expo. They are planning events like Darth Vader: The Evolution of a Villain, which will show the development of the character, as well as a Crash Course in the Force: Star Wars Saga 101. There are bigger things in store for the event, though.

THR is now reporting that the studio also has big plans for Star Wars: Episode VII. Instead of revealing any news at Comic-Con next week, they are going to be stingy and save it for D23. According to insiders, Disney and Lucasfilm will be making some announcements about the film, including confirming some of the Star Wars actors that will be returning to the franchise. Apparently the actors are going to show up and make an appearance at the expo.

It would be awesome if they also announced the stand alone films they are developing as well. I don't see why they wouldn't. At this point I'm sure they know what they're doing over the next 5 or 6 years.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see. We'll be there to report on everything they reveal!

Mark Hamill Sure is Looking Fit for his Return to STAR WARS

Production on Star Wars: Episode VII is on a roll, and today we have an update on casting for the film and the story it will tell. The following news comes from MarketSaw, which has been a reliable source when it comes to Star Wars: Episode VII news. They broke the news that Lucasfilm was going to get started on the new Star Wars trilogy in the first place. The same source that fed them that information as well as several other Star Wars news items is back with some more good news. When it comes to the casting of the film, this is what they revealed,

"Ian McDiarmid, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams, Anthony Daniels, Warwick Davies, Benedict Cumberbatch and Gary Oldman. I believe Cumberbatch and Oldman were pursued for the same role, but I don't know how that will work out with the script changes, but I'm told they are both involved."

The site previously broke the news about Ford, Fisher, and Hamill. They are now confirming the rumors about Cumberbatch and Oldman, which is great! They go on to talk about pre-production issues that have occurred,

"Many Star Wars pre-production issues, an 'inadequate' central story which nobody would stamp off on, a problematic initial release date and an 'indecisive' director (J.J. Abrams) with the hardest gig in the industry. It's not going to be a cakewalk, but it will be a product shipping with the majority of its original parts."

As for the story that the filmmakers plan on telling, they say,

"Ultimately it's about twins, and which will take a path towards darkness and which will follow in their father's footsteps, or at least that is what it used to be, that may come later as I think changes are being undertaken to bring the original cast into the forefront of the story leading to ramifications that lead up to the next generation of Skywalkers."

So that's the latest news on the movie, and things are sounding great! It's set to be released on December 18th, 2015!

No kidding. The very large cast with more to be announced has me concerned. The OT always had its focus on a Luke, Han, and Leia. Lucas was always great at juggling the hierarchy of the characters without it becoming convoluted. I'm not so sure about Abrams. Also, I'm not a big fan of Abrams 'tv style' writing where the characters constantly talk and never shut up for a moment to keep the audience attention. Hopefully, Lawrence Kasdan will fix that problem if it arises.

Look at the difference in writing. Here the dialogue in Raiders is simple and straight forward. Pauses are left in to create dramatic tension and the audience is given time to take in the information.

In this scene from Into Darkness, the characters babble on, Uhuru keeps expressing the same thing several times as if the audience is too stupid to understand how she feels.

If I was given one wish for this film it would be for JJ to make right and give us closure for Lucas' most heinous crime. I want a scene with Han where he (cool as ice) SHOOTS A MOTHERFUCKER FIRST!

Even though fluff is his strong point-it will certainly be better than those crappy prequels.

And as for the original cast returning, I would expect them to be the sub plot movers, with the exception of maybe Luke Skywalker.

You have to admit Star trek reboots are far better than the Star Wars prequels. It's Star Wars can't get to deep.

nod I'm willing to bet my mortgage that Captain Solo dies in Ep VII. That's probably the only way they got Harrison to do it.
