Heat's defense ain't what it used to be. So many defensive breakdowns for Miami. I've never seen an offensive clinic like that in the playoffs, even from the Showtime Lakers.

Game 4 is a must-win for the Heat. If they go down 3-1, Spurs will smell blood.

Off Topic: Anyone see the 1984 Draft special on NBA-TV? Actually, that was the only draft I attended

Like I said, Miami's 'D' has taken a step back. And when Lebron's on the bench, they can't get anything going. WTF is with Chalmers? He's useless out there.

Spoelstra may have to play Battier to help with the defense.

Agreed! I was also ticked off that the commentators talked about nothing but Lebron during the pre-game show. They act like this dude has healed the sick and raised the dead....Go spurs!

Pretty wild. We all knew Hakeem was going to be the top pick. The Bowie pick wasn't a surprise either. It's easy to bash Portland now, but at the time, it made sense. Portland already had Clyde Drexler, and they needed a big man to battle Kareem and the Lakers. Sam Bowie was a solid college player, but eventually his body betrayed him.

I could see this happening if Carmelo is willing to take that pay cut. He said he wants to win - that leaves out the Knicks.

Agreed. Jordan was expected to be an All-Star, but not a megastar worth passing up on an All-Star big, which is what Olajuwon and Bowie were expected to be.

Do you think he'll wait one more year to see whether PJax can lure LeBron? Heck, I even sense that if the Lakers are in rebuild mode Kobe may demand a trade, and NY would be an obvious destination.

Yeah, they talked about LJ a lot during the first quarter too! It seemed like during every commercial break, they were showing pics of Lebron or talking about him at length. Do you remember when Van Gundy said that "You can't deny Lebron's greatness" I was like WTF, I never heard him say that about Duncan not even once! LOL! I think they pay off these talking heads to build up the hype. Either that or it's just total lunacy biggrin

That's hilarious!!!!! biggrin I think I got upset too but I didn't say anything as hilarious as you did biggrin I just can't believe Van Gundy would say something that biased and then not even have sense enough to talk about how Duncan, Parker and/or Ginobilli are AMAZING players! It doesn't help that the refs usually call bogus fouls to get Lebron to make free throws. This dude is a phony. His team just hands him the ball and he scores 40 points, big deal......he's all about himself. Oh and I bet that the entire city of Cleveland said the same thing you did biggrin

I'm a Prince fan, so we all know I usually have no problems with egomaniacs razz but LeBron's ego and constant nut stroking it receives just gets on my nerves. He's damn good at what he does, I'll give him that but his "greatness" hasn't manifested itself in my eyes because like you said, "He's all about himself". The GREAT Bill Russell for whom the NBA MVP Award is named after had a fantastic response for Mr. James when he neglected to include him in his fantasy basketball Mt. Rushmore of NBA greats.

That's how GREATNESS carries itself! lol

Wow! I never knew Bill Russell said that! WOW! Lebron is talented but I think his attitude and ego overshadow anything else. This is why I like Kevin Durant so much. You see how he's GENUINE and he's a team player above all else. I can't understand why the media is always kissing up to Lebron. He's too much of a cry baby and the premature comparisons to Jordan are sickening! The way he carries himself turns off a lot of people and it makes it difficult to see him as anything more than an egomaniac that's overrated.

Sorry folks, but Lebron's overall game is WAYYYYYYYYYYYY better than Durant's. KD is a weak defender who can't even post up guards, so let's put that nonsense to rest. And Lebron's all about team - sometimes I think he's too unselfish.

@namepeace - your guess is as good as mine as to what Carmelo Anthony will do. The Knicks can offer him the most loot, but Carmelo said he doesn't want to go through another losing season.

I disagree. KD is leaps and bounds better than LeBron and not just in terms of basketball but in how he carries himself in public. smile

How the hell is he better defensively? Rebounding? Passing? Please, let's keep it real here. Lebron's been to FOUR straight Finals, and he took a team of scrubs there in '07.

That public shit means nothing to me. All I'm interested in is on-the-court performance.

And when will Durant, Westbrook & Co. start getting heat for not winning it all? Their window won't last forever.

The prooof is in the pudding. LeBron's first ring came against KD and the

Thunder. 4 games to 1. Enough said.

Lebron's ego? Please. LeBron's ego isn't even half of the arrogance MJ, Kobe, Barkley, Magic, Karl Malone, Shaq, and Bird had.

I can remember that 84 draft. I remember Dallas had the 4th pick and

Philly had the 5th pick. I was so glad Dallas had the 4th pick because I knew they were gonna be baited into taking Sam Perkins over Charles

Barkley and I knew all along Barkley was gonna be the better pro player.

Perkins was solid but he couldn't do the things Barkley could on the court even at Barkley's size he was more physical than Perkins. Perkins only advantage over Barkley was shot blocking. I know if Philly had the 4th pick they probably would have been baited into taking Perkins too. Barkley was a terror at Auburn in college.

The NBA Finals

Game 4

San Antonio Spurs 107 Miami Heat 86

The San Antonio Spurs had an explosive game in game 3 of these Finals, but Miami had a history of responding after bad losses with huge gutsy wins. The Heat was hoping to do just that tonight while the Spurs were looking to make a statement and take a huge series lead.

And the Spurs did just that. While they did not have the same explosive first half they did in game 3, they were just as dominant in this game, and once again it was a total team effort. They were once again led by Kawhi Leonard, who scored 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, despite being guarded by Lebron James through most of the game. Tony Parker scored 19 points while Patty Mills scored 14 points off the bench. Tim Duncan scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, and Boris Diaw, once again in the starting lineup, nearly had a triple double, scoring eight points, grabbing nine rebounds and dishing out nine assists. The Spurs only trailed after the opening bucket by Miami, and they led by as much as 23 points. The Heat only got as close as 13 points midway through the third quarter, but the Spurs closed down that threat quickly. All of San Antonio's roster scored in this game. Lebron James led the Heat with 28 points, but Chris Bosh was limited to just 12 points while Dwyane Wade was limited to 10 points in this game. The rest of the Heat lineup was MIA for the most part. The Spurs can now close out the series and win their fifth NBA title at home on Sunday.

San Antonio leads series 3-1.

I have NEVER seen that before. On Magic Johnson's twitter the other day, he said that Leonard was the future of the team. I totally see what he's talking about! Leonard was amazing.....not flashy, he gets the job do it for his team! Tell "Burger King" Lebron to take notes from Leonard!
