I suffer from a really bad vasomotor and allergic rhinitis: sneezing, nose burning and running and blocked and the eyes irritation and fatigue that goes with it after a few hours if meds won't work. The thing is when it's burning basically it's better when the nostril blocks itself because besically it's the contact with air that's irritating. The problem is that sometimes the nostril in question just won't block itself. Of course I have meds (antihistamine and corticosteroids) but they don't always work.

Today I had one of my nostrils burning to hell for hours and I just couldn't work or do anything at all because I was sneezing every minute and completely exhausted.

Then I had an idea: knowing that pepper is irritating to mucous membranes and a natural anesthesic I thought maybe if I sniff pepper it will either anesthesize the mucous membrane and/or irritate it so much that the nostril will block itself at last.

So here I am with pepper in my hand, and I did it. Of course at first it burns as hell but after a minute I couldn't feel a thing at all anymore inside my nostril! No more irritation, at all, and therefore no more sneezing and fatigue! I just feared it wouldn't last but it did for about an hour and then finally the nostril blocked itself completely (unblocking the other nostril which was blocked but not burning).

So basically I've just found a new solution for a thing that's been making a hell of my life for years!
