I don't know...... I'm a huge Godfather fan (books and movies), but I just don't see Michael (or Vito, for that matter) as villains. The villains in that series are people like Sollozzo, the Tattaglias, Captain McCluskey, Moe Greene, Jack Woltz, Hyman Roth....

Michael & Vito are villains. They can cover it up in fancy suits and tradition all they want, but they're nothing but gangsters and killers.

The tragedy of The Godfather is Michael was never meant to be a don. You see what it does to him at the end of Godfather II. He sits alone, a broken man.

That's the genius of the movie. He became a bigger monster than ANY of his enemies, all to protect his family. Despite his intent and capacity for good. That's what makes him such a great villain.

I think timing has been at the root of many problems to almost everybody that has ever walked the earth!

Learning yes...moving on....that's clearly easy for some and not so much for me...I don't want to move on, but I guess wanting it enough for both of us isn't going to make it happen either...so I wait....and we are back to time and timing being a villain!
