JJ Abrams love sentimetality and role reversals.

I can see Solo going out in a blaze of glory saving his daughter and solidifying the new bad guy.

Last words?? It has to be a dying solo to distraught Daughter....

Han: "I love you"

Daughter: "I Know".

nod I'm willing to bet my mortgage that Captain Solo dies in Ep VII. That's probably the only way they got Harrison to do it.

He played in The Expandables III for chrissakes, why wouldn't he play in 3 SW movies?

I'm torn between being excited that these three are in the films and finding it all a bit sad.

Well lets see what you would look like after being dark force lightened while trying to save your father, okay?

True, when as old as him am I, look as good I will not.

Actually, he looks a bit like yoda. Must have been something in the water in the swamp.

Ford wanted Solo to die in Return of the Jedi, and repeatedly stated he had no interest in reprising the role. I dont want it to happen, but he's kicking the bucket in Ep VII...take it to the bank.

keep in mind that in EP VII Luke will about the same age as Ben in ANH...if not a little older.

*that was of course to horrabe planing and poor writing. Ben should have been much older.

There is a rumor over on Aintitcool that the tile is "The Ancient Fear"

that fits the title formula...(an old bad thing and opposed to a hidde bad thing or a new good thing form I and IV) but it is kind of early.

I do think it will be 3 words and imply an old bad something. An Ancient Evil is just as likely.

I wonder if somehow the new Jedi Academy with the ancient Sith spirits storyline will come into play?

Well, John Boyega could turn out to be Luke's son. I got a feeling he's gonna be one of those old Buzzard's biracial son. JJ is a DECENT writer and he had help with the script. I can't wait to see how all of this comes together.

Darth Vader/Anakin technically was only in his late 30s early 40s by Star Wars:A New Hope? He wasn't even 21 or was he just about 21 by the time he turned to the dark side?

.

Luke was in his mid 30s maybe? by the Thrawn Trilogy or younger. In the novels where Han & Leias son becomes a sith lord I though Han was pointed as being in his mid-late 50s. Leia & Luke are at least 5-10 years younger than he is.

Anikin was 40ish in ANH

Luke is 60ish in VII. (a little older than Ben in ANH)

I'm convinced JJ is the right man for the job. He's a huge fan and a damn good filmaker. He's the nearest to a young Spielberg there is.

I'm with ya.

He's probably uber aware of the canon and where it should be unbreakable, where its bendable, and where it can afford to just be tossed. He's such a fanboy of the shit, I trust his judgment as to what to do.

I'm not expecting a new 'new hope'. Its a new decade, a new filmmaker, new teck, and new techniques. I do cross my fingers that he doesn't douse the movie with his glare effects he loves so much.

I saw him talking about making ST and how space is soundless. How one, to express some realism, has to respect that. But also has to respect the fact that images AND sound move and influence an audience emotionally. He demonstrated a happy medium should be met. With the clips shown to demonstrate this, he seemed to hit that nail on the head. I expect he will be as accurate with decisions in regards to SW.

I think the trickiest thing will be how "in keeping" it should be.

With Star Trek, he had a more room to play with. It was always going to be a reboot.

With Star Wars, how much should he tinker with? Would he mess with the opening titles to get his Bad Robot Production in there? Will he continue with the 1950's style screen wipes?

Do we want a modern take, or a classic feel?

.

^Its not SW without screen wipes. I think the trilogy will stay pretty true to canon. I think disney will totally fuck with the other stand alones.

Rumour has it that in the first 5 minutes of the new movie R2D2 "Accidently" pushes Purplejedi out of an airlock.
