This is tragic. Your hair was so beautiful. Not to say it isn't now...but what's in the picture is....well....picture perfect.

That stinks. sad I know of someone who grew her hair out (she has beautiful hair, like yours) so she could donate it to Locks of Love. That's a very nice thing to do. biggrin

RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I've been growing my hair to do this too, but mine gets so brittle and dry at the ends I keep having to get it trimmed off, sometimes a LOT.

mad

Feels like I will never get 8" to donate, but I will keep trying.

I could do it now if I get a crew cut, but that won't suit me I think!

I'm the mistake you wanna make

Mine used to be really dry, too, so I tried lots of shampoos until I found what worked for my hair. I switch back and forth between Matrix Biolage and Paul Mitchell One every couple of months. I had to dry and straighten mine every time I wore it down so I used Redkin blowdry lotion before I dried it to protect it from the heat. One thing I was told to do and it made a big difference was, wash the hair on your head and then pull the shampoo down through the length of your hair, the less time it sits on your ends, the better because shampoo will suck the moisture out of your hair pretty bad.

it is not ture they DO accept colored hair. as long as it is not bleached.

here is the panten FAQ

http://www.pantene.com/en-US/PanteneBeautifulLengths/Details/pantene-pbl-faqs.aspx

A: Hair may be colored with vegetable dyes, rinses, and semi-permanent dyes. It cannot be bleached, permanently colored, or chemically treated (if unsure, ask your stylist).

from LOL

http://www.locksoflove.org/faq.html#Aa10

  1. Q. Can I donate colored hair?
    A. Yes, we can accept donations of colored hair.
  2. Q. Can I donate permed hair?
    A. Yes, we can accept donations of permed hair.
  3. Q. Can I donate bleached hair?
    A. No, we cannot use bleached hair. The bleach causes the hair to dissolve as it goes through the manufacturing process. Note: Many times highlights are done with bleach.

I don't even have words.. I can't be pissed at her since I figured she knew what she was talking about, not to mention the manager of the salon agreed with her but I didn't verify so it's my own fault.

disbelief

You should call them and tell them that to make ammends for their F-up, they need to send a donation to Locks-for-love or whatever organization you were going to use.

I already did, just in case someone else were to ask. She offered to refund my money and to give me 3 free treatments/cuts but I told her to keep it, I won't be back.

So...the hair color you used wasn't permanent?

No, I use the semi-permanent. I can't commit to more than that.
