While i don't think it's the end of the world. I don't have a good feeling about this. I think we are gonna pay for our pre-emptive oil strike. And yes they will rush to the oil before Saddam because that is what we are after(imho). And why did the stock market go up when it seems that we will go to war for sure? | |

I think the stock market reacts unfavorably to the unknown. As such, when it seems that a decision has finally been made to initiate a war, the market rises upon that announcement.. Keep in mind, I believe the same result would have occured if Bush decided to not invade Iraq...probably more sustained at least over the short run. A more interesting point perhaps is how does the market react to war in general (not just an initial reaction). I'm not sure myself, as I have read conflicting data on the subject. There is a cliche that war helps the economy...but in this post 9/11 era, all bets are off. | |
