Are There ANY Good, Reliable Hosting Websites For Small Business Owners?

I'm trying to find a good website that will host my webpage and, most importantly, market my new business to potential customers. Trouble is, all of the hosting websites that I have been researching have been thoroughly trashed by seemingly everybody who has used their services.

I have researched vistaprint.com, godaddy.com, and web.com, and have read mostly negative comments about the services that people have received. There has GOT to be a decent hosting website out there somewhere, and I'm hoping maybe someone knows of one. I need to step up my marketing efforts for my new business. I have placed an ad in my church bulletin, and have put my business cards up everywhere that I'm allowed to do so. I get a few calls, but very few serious customers. I need to reach as many people as possible. Putting flyers into people's mailboxes is not an option, since this is considered to be illegal, and I don't want to get into hot water with the post office.

Any suggestions??

RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

This probably would be a good question for me to ask my computer guy. If anybody would know of a good hosting website, it would be him. idea

I find it amazing that you're in the US and can't find one, considering I found one here in India that has functioned, on the whole, quite OK, for all the time that I used it.

Here's one - www.awardspace.com , www.freehostia.com also.

Out of curiosity, what IS your business?

Blacknight solutions are very good. I have dealt with them and have in general found them to be very good.

A good friend of mine uses them all the time and he recommends them highly.

But it depends where you're based - they describe themselves as being for the Irish and European markets, so if you are elsewhere you could always contact them to see if they host further afield than that (I'm pretty sure they do).

Well, there are hosting websites, but like I said in my original post, finding a good one is difficult. Thanks for the suggestions, I will look into them. My business is pet sitting/dog walking.

I'm a Web Developer, I use Yahoo!http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com Technically, they bought the original company I signed with in '95 or '96, but, I've been with "them" ever since. And, all of my freelance clients are happy with them, too.

With a site, your content is always easy to find, and each section can be recognized by search engines. -- but today, one should have both a -- the static website for reference & full info, and a social media presence to engage with customers/potential customers, and provide an easy way for them to share your news/content

I use iPage. Seems all right. Much cheaper than Network Solutions.

I use yahoo, too, and it's pretty trouble free. I don't really like navigating the site much, though.

Someone recommended hostgator to me, and they also seem really cheap. I might try them

Funny, I just got out of a meeting about this very subject. Call your local newspaper(s). Many of them do host webpages.
