Suavis homines compleo postremus.
(google translate translates this as 'sweet man to finish the last')
is as close as I can get, but my Latin is crap, if it needs to be an absolutely accurate translation you'll need somebody with better Latin than mine to help (i.e. somebody who actually studied the language). Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Leonard. RIP.

I'd go with: "Homines benigni explent ultime."
Literally, "benign males complete their task last (or most remotely)." [Edited 3/22/14 14:25pm] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου
μηδὲν ὅλως σὺ λυποῦ πρὸς ὀλίγον ἐστὶ τὸ ζῆν τὸ τέλος ὁ χρόνος ἀπαιτεῖ.”

Did you once see/hear a preferred translation somewhere -- and now you're trying to recall it? Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου
μηδὲν ὅλως σὺ λυποῦ πρὸς ὀλίγον ἐστὶ τὸ ζῆν τὸ τέλος ὁ χρόνος ἀπαιτεῖ.”

Hi Ace, good to see you . I was trying to figure out an either intelligent or funny question for your other thread, but didn't come up with any, so I decided to at least contribute here on this one With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

Alright, since everyone is jumping in and no one's contributing anyting sensible, might as well throw in my two sestertii: it doesn't answer your question, but it's a funny thing I see on some semi-Roman arches close to Paradiso, Amsterdam: Homo sapiens non urinat in ventum I know. It doesn't help. But it's a funny one.

hello Ace, I would like to help but i don't really know much latin except for medical and legal terminology which isn't right for this thread. so, i tried looking it up but that didn't work so i can only offer the phrases below. good luck
"Vincit qui se vincit" (He conquers who conquers himself.)
"Anulos qui animum ostendunt omnes gestemus!" (Let's all wear mood rings!)

okay, so i continued researching your question but ultimately realized the phrase 'nice guys finish last' can be taken in at least two completely differnet ways:
1. as in sexually, where the man waits until the woman, you know, :winknudge: finishes first; and 2. as in failure, someone who does not succeed in life generally, meaning, polite behavior is not generally successful or rewarded over a 'bad boy' approach. please, could you clarify as to which meaning ? cicero is on hold, he wants to know
