Any bets on Toronto's mayoral race next fall?

Currently, I'd say Tory. But it's a long way to Tipperary. You?

I’m curious to know if your answer has shifted. I'm an outsider looking in to that campaign, of course, but Tory seems to have the taint of someone who can’t close the deal with voters about him, a three time loser, a perennial bridesmaid. This might be a superficial comparison, and again I’m looking at this from the outside, but he almost seems like a Romney writ small; a successful but slightly aloof guy unable to keep his foot out of his mouth. (I completely agree with your Chow comments btw).

I think you might be right about Tory, damo. His campaign, to date, has been underwhelming. But if the choice is him or Chow, I'm voting for him.

Only a few more days before this thread gets locked.

What was the first documentary that made a big impression on you?

When do threads get locked? And why? Am I imagining it, or were they open-ended before?

First doc. that made a big impression on me? Good question, sex! Maybe 28 Up?

All threads get automatically locked after 60 days. That's to prevent people like Dan reviving ancient threads and fooling people into thinking they are new. smile

I had never heard of the Up series of documentaries. It sounds very cool.

Let's say you fooled people into thinking they were new. What harm could possibly come from that? confused

I think I only saw two in the series. They were very interesting.

I don't know anything about Iron Man, so I couldn't say.

OMG. She is HILARIOUS. Scorsese had a documentary about her on HBO called Public Speaking. That mess had me LOL'ing nonstop. Her type of humor is right up my alley.
