Apparently not. I am with you. They just cannot seem to figure out, how to transfer the Green Goblin, to a live action movie.

Well Superman the Movie (1978) showed that a literal translation to cinema was NOT cool for a comic, and a "reimagining" could be cool and worked to make a contemporary audience buy into it emotionally. They changed the rocketship to a crystal new age chandelier, made the superman "s" a coincidence symbol that means something else in his alien culture, and also added a magic element to cushion the fact that they've got completely crazy story physics and science shot in a real 70's world.

Personally I hated 1989's Batman because it went back to the schlock instead of the "verisimilitude" started by Superman, Star Wars, and Close Encounters.

his face almost looks like its transforming....maybe going for a going for a Goblin similar to whats in Ultimate Spriderman?

I just don't think a purple & green traditional Goblin is gonna translate well on screen...

How is it you feel?

I would've been happy with that in an awesome Avatar-esque CGI way.
Not the rubber mask.

It looks pretty convincing. And its emotive. Pretty good especially for its time, if they made a new one now it would obviously be even better. The Green Goblin himself wears a mask so its makes sense in a way even if it had blemishes.

Heres a pretty cool video of the mask in action, dont know how to embed videos on this thing.
