Dallas Buyer's Club deserved all the awards it got. Leto & McConaughey were superb. Blanchett was excellent in Blue Jasmine but without her I'm not sure if that movie would have been so popular.
Easy to understand the hatred for Lawrence. She's young, fine and talented. Not to mention her charming & witty personality. Pure Hollywood gold she is. You people are just jealous.
Lupita gave the speech of the night though. And McConaughey. What a great year for movies! Seemed like something good out there for everyone.
Great to see that American Hustle got so many nominations. That was my favorite of the year.
The musical performances were shit though. Pharrell doesn't have a good voice. He should have given that song to Timberlake. Not saying that Timberlake's voice is good but his falsetto is better than Pharrell's.
Oh please. She plays shitty, unlikeable characters. I means overplays them. I don't know anything about herpersonally to be jealous of anything. She has bitchy resting face so that's probably why a. Gets sulky characters to play or b. Makes regular characters into sulky ones because of her default expression. I'm the mistake you wanna make |

I just had to explain that whole concept to the master
Using Kristen Stewart as example but that didn't work since he's never heard of either actress
I did think her performance in American hustle was great however, I was screaming with laughter at the microwave scene [Edited 3/3/14 14:56pm]I'm the mistake you wanna make |

So am I the only one that got a good chuckle out of the "dig" made by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez when they won the Best Original Song Oscar for "Let It Go" from the movie "Frozen,"?
"To all the nominees, you're all rock stars...LITERALLY!"
I totally took that as..."Everybody thought one of you would surely win but you didn't and can you say EGOT? HA!"
it!
I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart. |

I didn't see it like that. Many winners compliment the people they beat saying how awesome they are so the "literally" part at the end was a way of saying, 'we're not just blowing smoke up your asses, you guys really are rock stars and we are in awe of you."

No. I don't go to the movies, so I don't know any of the movies nominated. I might watch the Red Carpet, though.
The "Walking Dead" comes on at 9, so...
I always try to see at least 2 movies in each of the categories just to compare performances. These days I usually just watch most of 'em online since many of the films won't be initially shown in theatres here in Germany anyway -unless it has a major star and already made a big buzz at previous film festivals in Europe (like Cannes, Venice, and of course, the German Berlinale).
I usually watch the actress nominees by myself, then watch best picture or actor nominees with my dude to get him into it and help me predict the winners

Beautiful!!!! Her dress and Charlize Theron's were my two faves of the night.
I'm crushing heavily on Lupita lately.
And though something about Charlize gets on my nerves occasionally, she's definitely pretty fierce when she wants to be.
and I think this dress is a great example of how to properly wear a gown with a plunging neckline without it looking too "Showgirl-ish". Mariah wore one recently at another awards ceremony, and while I got the Jessica Rabbit look she was serving, the look was a miss for me:
