yesterday at like 2am i tried 2 get on youtube but spelled the address wrong but i didn't know it; i got several pop-ups saying i needed to update software plus a pop-up 4 pc help; i tried 2 update but nothing would happen; and still no youtube. so i tried system restore 3 different times and nothing would happen. i went back to bed at 4am. i woke at 10am and tried again still nothing so i called the number 4 pc help and this guy with an accent answered and told me it would be free 2 diagnose my machine. i said ok and he told me 2 go to this website where he could inspect my computer virtually. he wanted 2 know my name and i said jane doe. he looked at all kinds of things that looked like something bad had happened 2 my computer; he said i had viruses and system problems. i told i didn't have the money to fix it and that i would just call the people where my virus protection was; he told me they couldn't repair it; i said i don't have the money for him to do it and he said i will take whatever u have and i can pay it off later; all i had was $20 in my checking and was not about to give that up. anyway i hung up and tried to c if i could fix my pc and he called my house (it was an 800 # and i don't answer those) he went as far as opening notepad and told me 2 answer the phone. (he actually fought with me virtually to keep me from turning off my computer) i checked my virus and it wasn't working had 2 call them and uninstall and reinstall my protection. on top of that i could not get to youtube and had 2 call microsoft 4 help; they wanted $100 but i told them that i have 2 free service calls; it took her a half hr to get youtube back on my computer; i was using explorer at the time but now i am back with google chrome; at first when i realized it was a scam i thought it was funny; but when i talked 2 microsoft i was MAD; all i did was spell youtube wrong PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i know jedi thanks 4 posting; a few years ago my mom got a call from a jamaican (we had family n the carribean and she recognized the accent) he tolod her that if she gave him $200 she would get $8 million; she new it was a scam and hung up SEVERAL TIMES he kept calling back; finally she told him that our neighbor was a poli8ceman and that she was going to get him; it worked he finally gave up; the virus protection people said that the scam was out of pakistan or india; what get me is that the technology that it took 2 do that 2 my computer they should b able 2 find the job!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never click on pop ups. I hope he was not able to access your computer. The reason being that if you gave him permission to access your computer via remotely, any personal information about you in your computer could be taken and used for identity theft.

yeah i know; i have identity protection through my bank; i pay $12.99 a month 4 the service so i am not 2 worried; maybe i should call them and let them know what happened
