One time I was watching HBO and they showed two pornstars (not sure who) as they had molds made for sale on the market. The show was like a documentary.

I'm assuming that the kit he used was probably a better more professional mold since they were going to be selling copies. They certainly couldn't expect the non-professional to deal with an hour.

I recently read an interview with Cynthia Plaster Caster. If you don't know, she's the infamous groupie who makes plaster casts of rock-n-rollers, um... well their penises. She learned how to make a good mold in art school. With the alginate she used for the mold, they only had to stay hard for about 40 to 120 seconds. Jimi Hendrix was her first successful attempt. Of course, she was only molding to cast it out of plaster. Not silicone or rubber or anything like that.
