Don't get me wrong... homeboy has made some good movies.

But, his entire ''I'm gonna change my body and looks to look so unique for this role'' has gotten a little pretentious. He has a major ''transformation'' for every other movie he is in... and the movie sucks. It seems that people give him this amazing credit for being versatile. And, for doing something different with his roles.

But, it seem it is more about the look then the character. Most of the time... which is why i don't understand why he is seen as one of the greats.

DISCUSS, And i'm prepared to have feelings thrown my way.

Well, for one i never mentioned him. Second, i actually like bale for the most part.

He lost a lot of weight, then gained it all back. I admire that... and he did it for one role. And again this about Depp i mentioned nothing at all to do with Bale

I haven't seen a Johnny Depp movie on prupose since BLOW and outside of The Pirates series, his films have crashed.

for some reason I never truly liked him as a person (I think the guy now lives for the money), but he has def starred in some contemporary classics; also, he might very well be the anti-BradPitt (and I love him for that): dark-haired, pretty but tough/edgy when necessary (without looking forced), his performance actually helps/elevates the film (not the other way around)...

I can actually agree on the Brad Pritt angle too. Pitt has done some good movies... this i can't deny.

But, it seems there's so much power to his name. That he can use that.. without actually putting effort into his performance. In film school people worshiped him as an actor. And, most other people i know do too. And then there's the fact he is seen as the ''sexiest man alive''

I'm convinced Depp's best years were behind him after 1994. For some reason I can't get into his films post-1994. "Benny & Joon" was one of his best.

In his latter films, you can tell he has talent but I don't know, I agree with Guns that he does seem real pretentious (Christian Bale does too in a way).

I'm a huge Depp fan, but the last movie I paid money to see him in was a huge disappointment (Dark Shadows). It was corny as hell, but Depp still gave a superior performance nonetheless. I just wished he would hang up those Pirate movies already...I've yet to watch one without falling asleep before it ends.

I think Johnny has made some decent films over the years, but IMO his recent work hasn't been good. I really liked him in Blow, Finding Neverland, What's Eating Gilbert Grape and Bennie and Joon, but the pirate movies suck and some of his "different" types of roles are just too out there. I much prefer Brad Pitt and his movies to Depp's.

I think at this point, Johnny is resting on his laurels, but I think what he really needs is a role that is deep and believeable. None of this pirate or indian crap.

i love his body of work, especially the tim burton danny elfman collabs. he's very talented.

A friend of mine that hung out with him during the filming of "The Lone Ranger" said he was a really nice guy.

Bale has a fantastic body. I'm a body-builder myself and i want to be HUGE. While, Bale is not huge. His body is just... amazing. It's lean, but ripped and i can tell he's strong. I probably could never get a lean but buff body like that. Nothing but respect!
