What is the worst job u ever had?

Mine was shelf stacker at a supermarket in the UK called Sommerfield. It went bust or was taken over some years ago. biggrin
At my worst I tried climbing to the top shelf of the tin vegetables aisle to commit suicide by jumping off. But it was only 6ft high. neutral My manager was a dick and he was dating my colleague that I had a mad crush on. The pay sucked and I kept getting accused of eating the chocolate bars n drinking the cider. Which was true tbh lol

Actually that job ruled!
smile

Worked for a veterinarian. Came in every morning and fed everyone

plus cleaned the cages. Worst time was these 3 St. Bernard puppies got wormed.

I came in and it was a river of shit. Had to scrub the cage, scrub the floor and bathe

the dogs. I believe I was paid $1.75 an hour which was a huge raise from my previous

job where I got 90 ¢ an hour working at a resort doing yard work, carring luggage,

and washing dishes. I remember dragging 10 pieces of luggage up to the third floor and

the customer said she would give me a tip later when she got change for a quarter.

Selling cemetary plots to people pre-need. I began working at the Woodlawn Cemetary in Detroit when I was 25. I actually enjoyed it for awhile. I liked the serenity of being able to walk around and visit the final resting places of some of Detroit's most prominent citizens and learn about their history. When I first started working there, I sold cemetary plots to people in-need. That was a piece of cake because in-need life insurance policy holders will buy pretty much anything just to hurry up and get the process over with. I did very well and the commision was outstanding. One day I showed up for work and was told I was "promoted" to outside pre-need sales and the bosses neice who'd just returned from college was going to take over my former job.

Going door-to-door to sell pre-need funeral plots lasted exactly 1 day. lol

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

My first job out of college was running a mail room for an car company. I had to be at work at 5 in the morning. Lasted 6 months. Being a night owl I just couldnt get my body to adjust to the time. Plus I had to get up like at 4 drive to the plant switch to the company car and then backtrack like 30 minutes the way I just came to get the mail and then back to the plant. ugh.

I could answer my job now (because working for big banks is just BAD NOW ... )

but then i will remember ...

I took this sales job about 6 yrs ago - it promised 100K a year ... the guy who hired me said "oh you just go out on 2 appointments a day ... the statistics are that you will sell 50% of the time ... so thats a sale a day ... and you make like $800 off every sale ...

so i had another job at the time ... so i thought this would work out great ...

well of course that wasnt really the whole story ... you got a "lead " and if you didnt turn that lead into a sale then you had like 3 days of training ...

IT SUCKED BIG TIME .... the first appt i went on - i sold the product ... my manager was with me ... and he said "congratulations .... by taking 1/2 the commission .... yeah !

so the second appt i went on ... was a bust ... they werent gonna buy no matter what .... and i soon learned that the job was kinda totally BS ...

Colonel Angus may be smelly. colonel angus may be a little rough . but deep down ... Colonel angus is very sweet.

Did you fail the test or just not take it and forfeit the job? That happened to me. I got hired, failed the drug test for marijuana and was told the job would be rescinded unless I had a prescription for the grass, which I did not because this was back in 1999. I begged and pleaded and agreed to take random drug tests for a year if they hired me. They agreed and I was hired. I was tested every month up until around January of the following year. I had started in June the previous year. I didn't get summoned for a test in February or March so I figured I was done and took a chance. I smoked a half a joint with a friend on a Sunday. That Monday morning I was summoned for another test. OH SHIT!! I knew I was in big trouble. So I tried drinking massive amounts of water to flush my system. No dice. When the results came back I was fired. My boss was so hurt because he really liked me and my work ethic and didn't care that I smoked grass. I was honest with him and told him I liked to smoke on my own time at home, never publicly. Hell, he smoked! I never went to work high and never smoked on the job. I felt so bad. He actually had tears in his eyes when he had to tell me I had been fired. It wasn't his decision and he had fought for me, but the powers that be weren't having it. I was so mad with myself too for making such an asinine mistake. Now the shit is legal in DC and that's where the job was.

Oh yeah I failed the test. I didn't know they were doing drug testing. If I had I wouldn't have

even applied. Almost walked out when I saw that was what they were going to do but I thought

I had been there a half hour so what the hell. I suffer from depression and I need some pot occasionally.

So now I won't smoke again until I get a job. Didn't really want the Amazon job so

no big deal.
