I wonder if they nominated Jonah Hill only because of his jerking off scene at that pool party, pathetic choice, over Daniel Bruhl!

I'd like Nebraska to win best picture, but I think 12 Years A Slave is going to win.

Those Fuckers gave BLOCKBUSTER "The Butler" the middle finger...They could have nominated the-behind-the-scenes crew for their excellent Costumes, makeup & Score...but nothing...

**************************************************************************

I'm rooting for "12 Years a slave" to at least win "Best Picture"but I have a feeling the Flick will ONLY take home "Best Adapted Screenplay(The 2nd win for a Black screenwriter in 86yrs..wow..)".....The Golden Globe win for "Best Actor" gave Matthew McConaughey the Gas he needed....."American Hustle" is a Comedy filled with Great Dramatic Actors. As long as the actors don't say or do anything Stupid until the final voting is done I feel the Flick will sweep.....

The Butler is overrated. I REALLY wanted it to blow me away and be this cinematic powerhouse but it wasn't. 12 Years was though. Oprah and Forest could've gotten nods tho. Did you hear the guy on GMA when the noms came out and ppl talked about who was snubbed? He was like "oh, and there's so much lacking in her life already..." (or something to that effect, i'm paraphrasing). That MAY be the sentiment of the still Jewish dominated academy.

Thank you. As much as I love me some Bradley Cooper and Jack Huston, that movie was very underwhelming. Sucks because the previews made it seem like it was going to be this fun filled movie set in the 70's. I nearly fell asleep during the first hour of it.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

It's disappointing Sarah Polley's excellent Stories We Tell didn't make the final cut for best documentary feature.

I'm hoping my favorite movie of 2013 The Great Beauty wins the Oscar for best foreign language film.

Other observations:

Apparently I was wrong about Tom Hanks earning a nomination for the final scene of Captain Phillips.

Jonah Hill stole James Gandolfini's nomination.

Yay, Sally Hawkins!

I thought for sure Pacific Rim would have gotten a nomination for special effects.

I saw every single film nominated last year, but that may not be possible this year if it means suffering though Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa. confused
