I think buying makes alot more sense(cents)but due to my bad habits,leasing might be the only option.I discussed this with my therapist.Replace your bad spending habits and addictions on something you really want.We come to this.

Anyway:Buy or Lease?

I have done both .

I must say - i have very mixed emotions on saying "you should lease" when you start off hinting that you have bad credit and you are discussing your bad spending habits with a therapist ...

I will say this - i leased a car for my wife when we didn't have the best credit and - - - she needed a nice affordable monthly payment . She didnt need the car for many miles in a year - - - and she kept it very clean (something i cant do - keep a car clean and also i use too many miles ) .

That having been said - after 4 years of paying $200 plus a month ... we had nothing to show for it . and gave it back of course .

The only car i ever owned (vw with 210k miles on it now ) - - - i leased that ... when i had little ... and i went wayyyy over the milage and had no choice but to buy it when that lease was up ...

That having been said ... i would lease again ... but not for me . If my wife needs a car in the future and she wants one that we cant afford to buy ... i may lease .

I dont have bad credit,because I never owned a credit card,but I never build good credit.I was thinking of a loan,but with no recorded history of credit,is the banker gonna loan me the money and how are my interest rates gonna be? HIGH

I could borrow from my sister.I wonder how that will go at the family table.

well ... i wouldnt know which way i would lean ... (since you did not have any credit) .

In so many ways this is great - but I can see that the negative is .... "you dont have any credit " .

I think there are some simple ways you can do that ... i think .... like I know the bank has a "get credit " program .... i think ... that you can give them 200.00 and then ... they give you some credit for that ... and then .... that helps you get credit built up .... i think .. . (been a while since i had to do that sorry ) ....

what type of car are you eyeing up ...

i love looking at cars/trucks ...

Leasing usually requires better credit than buying.

And usually a couple thousand dollars in down payment... Plus you have to follow a mileage guideline and return the car in pretty much the same shape you got it in...

I leased for 6 years. Finally couldn't stand the thought of having a monthly car note with no end in sight so I ended up purchasing the last car I lease. Got that sucker paid off last year! I feel sooooooo liberated not having a car note and won't have one for a looooong time! Now, I can afford to go on vacation!

I think it's really based on your priorities. Some people feel like they must have a new car every couple years with all of the latest gadgets so they lease. Other people look long term and prefer to spend their money in other ways so they purchase.
