The 10 favourites films in a recent poll where ....

Marilyn Monroe's comic caper Some Like It Hot has been named the favourite film of all time.
featuring Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis as cross-dressing musicians on the run from gangsters - came in just ahead of the musical Grease.
Half the films in the list date back to the '60s or earlier. Some Like It Hot was made in 1959.

Star Wars, which often figures highly as a movie great, failed to even make the top 10 in the Diet Coke poll.

1. Some Like It Hot (1959)

2. Grease (1978)

3. Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994)

4. Pretty Woman (1990)

5. It's a Wonderful Life (1946)

6. American Beauty (1999)

7. Casablanca (1942)

8. The Sound of Music (1965)

9. Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961)

10. Ghost (1990)

The only one on there that I really liked is "It's a Wonderful Life"... I haven't seen Casablanca, The Sound of Music or Breakfast at Tiffany's though.

I can't believe the others are in the top ten...

Breakfast at Tiffany's is a great film Azure. It's a classic. Audrey Hepburn is wonderful. It is worth watching!

You haven't seen The Sound of Music?! omfg

So, I guess no running around on the tops of green hills singing "The Hills are Alive!" for you then. I hope I'm not the only one who does that. boxed

My opinion..

1. Some Like It Hot (1959)
Funny. A nice film. Not my favourite.

2. Grease (1978)
Fantastic when your 8 then it starts to lose it’s appeal. At least it’s family friendly.

3. Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994)
Not seen yet.

4. Pretty Woman (1990)
Kinda cool.

5. It's a Wonderful Life (1946)
A master piece.

6. American Beauty (1999)
My favourite out of the list. If you don’t love it, you don’t understand it.

7. Casablanca (1942)
Not seen yet.

8. The Sound of Music (1965)
A good film but not something I’d watch. Another one for the kiddies.

9. Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961)
Not seen

10. Ghost (1990)
Not seen

My choice:
1 Purple rain
2 Ed wood
3 One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
4 American beauty
5 Clockwork orange
6 From hell
7 Green mile
8 Arsenic and old lace
9 Nightmare on elm street 3 : Dream warriors
10 Boogie nights

What do you think?

It's OK. I'm back. One look at that daft twat and I'm flaccid for hours. Amanda Holden could give me a lap dance right now and it would have no effect.
