My bf and I are about halfway (maybe a bit more?) into season 2 and I'm still having a hard time getting into it, though the last episode's cliff hanger has me wanting to watch another one.

It's so much anxiety and violence and stress. It's not pleasurable to watch. And so far there's maybe one likable character.

Perhaps the show simply isn't for me. My bf LOVES it. If he didn't want to watch it I'd have given it up by now.

Season two is when I began. I agree watching the show can be very uncomfortable because it's so intense. I definitely recommend sticking with it because it gets better with each season. The series finale is one of the most satisfying ever I've seen.

It's all about the transformation of two people; Walter White and Jesse.

It's well done, well written and amazing in more ways then I can say here.

I must purchase when I get an opportunity.

You should def check it out.
Giancarlo Espisito (sp?) is esp good in it.

Not really but kinda spoilers in talking about characters:

We're one episode into season 3 now (we were farther along in 2 than I thought) and I can definitely see improvement and I can see where it may be going but man, I still think there are no likable characters. I like Walt Jr/Flynn and I sympathize pretty heavily w/Skylar but everyone else is basically an asshole or annoying. Walter White isn't even an anti-hero, he's a jerk who hasn't yet figured out that he's a jerk (they're pretty much foreshadowing that in coming episodes he'll figure that out and then I suspect stuffs really gonna get crazy).

Can you stick with a show where you don't like anyone in it?

I also have never seen one episode.

I guess I have to get myself the dvd-box and do a marathon.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

All I can say without revealing too much is you may find yourself in future episodes sympathizing with characters you previously thought were irredeemable.

Besides that though, some of the villains are just beautifully bad. Giancarlo Esposito's Gus Fring has already been mentioned. And then there is skeevy lawyer Saul Goodman who provided much needed comedy relief.

If there's even a bit of a promise of redemption then that's cool. Whew.

Towards the end of the series, creator Vince Gilligan commented that it was very interesting to see, which characters the fans would root for. And I agree, it seems quite telling about people, who they thought should "win".

All I can say is, season 4 is amazing, season 5.1 is amazing, season 5.2 is absolutely amazing. The third to last episode is the best one hour of television I know personally. I loved the show before that, but it still feels like you watched the whole series just for that hour.

I'd rank the season 4 finale & the third-to-last episode you mentioned above among the best television or any kind of drama I've ever seen, not that i'm any authority on such matters.

I hate to say anything that would put someone off watching further because I think there are so many great things to come (the ending of the s4 finale surprised me about as much as anything I've ever seen), but if a person is on the third season and still not enjoying herself, then it's probably just not to your tastes, I guess. I did find the first season to be a slight slog to get through at times, from the 2nd season onward I was completely with the show.

Same here. Season 1 interested me just enough to continue. But then...

Aww, well I'm sure you'll have other opportunities. Tastebuds come first.
